Gee I thought E3 was about cool new stuff... These lame SWG turds like Julio come in there and stink it up with old crap that they are trying to act like it's new and cool.

Why didn't they just put up a booth and say "omg omg we have star wars galaxies!". That would've been about just as much news.

Yeah, and good luck to them getting enough people to make this even seem like more than a small coffee shop with guns. There's maybe 2 or 3 servers left that could field 80ish players on an average for a pre-announced event. Back in the day (like pre-cu), you could round up 200+ people for some pvp event you decided to start an hour ago, just by word of mouth.

SWG is not an MMO. It's a shell of something that was good that is being run by a bunch of hacks now. Someone should post a listing of what games the original devs are working on now.

Yes, i was one too, since the begining it was the only profession I never changed. Other then that I tried inicialy carbines, but the specials were broken, then pikeman, and on CU i used BH for back up. I miss all my pets, my favorite was a BE gurrek with no specials but with max damage of almost 600. He never owned anyone on PVP, but was a great companion. So were all the others

Didn't you say that you had placed all your faith for SWG on E3, and that if it didn't deliver, you were gonna join "the resistance".  Even L337 speak and all?????

I'll try to dig up some screenies. Last one was on Lok, outside a player city. And despite high population, it was quite playable.

And city blowing up and turning to wasteland probably meanst that building goes poof, and all that's left is terrain.

    Clicky 1
    Clicky 2

Glad you enjoyed our event!!  Yes, these screenies are from a 2 week long event coordinated by "The Brotherhood of NI" who's city is located roughly 1500 from Nyms on Lok.  In the second screeny you can actually see a little green character, rare pre-cu female rodian jedi, on the bottom center.  That's me!

We had AT-AT's parked in the city of about a week straight.  They wouldn't attack but were very dominating in appearance.

We had about 150 players appear for the finally!

It was in honor of the guilds 2 year aniversary.

    Good times!

I had several other large scaled events planned although they were wiped due to the rushed inclusion of the NGE.

Yeah, I agree for the most part.

What a lame idea..................an "event" no matter how many times you repeat it, solves nothing for the core game.

    Put me in charge now?

    Please????????????????????

I promise you guys "cloud cities" to trade on and own/administer, massive battles on Hoth, Rebel vs Imp PvP that makes sense and is fun, your favorite  version (pre-CU, CU or NGE), capital ships, and "real" PvP space missions, tons of content that is profession / faction based, skill system back

    no jedi's.

I'll fire everyone who gets in my way and recruit the best Sony HR can find me, until its done. (6 month target time or I'm fired)

Please.............I couldn't make it worse then it is..................................

"Oh and after the destruction of the city its pretty cool, you can go into destroyed buildings and actually fire from second level. "

Sounds like it will be a permenant place. The question is, why go back after the event is done?

Gee wiz, you can fire from second level. And people will come within LOS and 64m range? Does it really take soooooo little to impress people these days?

The whole thing sounds lame IMO. Is this the big news for E3 they bragged about? I hope not for their sake.

The funny thing is that I would have be impressed if they would have done the Star Destroyer thing they Demo'ed last year, and it's a year old, lmao!!! That would have actually been something to brag about, lol.

Look at my screenies, it's not even new. All that will be extra, is that they will add another NPC structure. Everything else is exactly the same. Reselling the same old stuff (mine is from last summer, during the CU) over and over. And people are going ape over it.

Doesn't sound like anything is new.  Project Dead-eye was the new weapon the Empire is supposedly making.  It was going to make their troopers more superererer.  They are just rehashing old stuff and trying to make it look new.  I guess with the dumbed down client it may not bring the serves down anymore because they needed it dumb to be able to be run on the PS3

Anyone here from Bria when the community tried to hold a major battle.  Battle of all Battles taht cause HUGE warping and brought the servers down after planning it for months and months have it break within 5 minutes of actual fighting.

Dammit, yea I did. But as common as these "my hidden mole source at SoE told me.." threads are, Ill just wait till the actual event before facing my music.

Bit of advice if you do this.  Leave out the "I couldn't do worse part."  For some reason, I don't think that SOE will be particularly happy if you put that in.

And no server-wide messages, it was even limited to certain rebel guilds IIRC, and all hush-hush, and still 150 people showed up. Some imperials too, but they didn't last long. And it wasn't even at prime-time.

I do wonder what numbers would show up today. Even if it were staged for entire server.

Guess just about everything that was at that event has died by now. I know majority of guilds did. Sad really.

ATAT at an event? Seen it.

Hordes of NPC's, uhm, seen it.

Firing from second level? How is that different from firing from the top deck of a Tat PA hall, off the balcony in Bestine City Hall or from the walkways in Ft Tusken?

A city that gets destroyed.... wasn't there a Vilage like that? So we're going to see "ooh what stage is the city in this week?"

    Awesome...

Players donating hamsters to help the developers make a better game.  I've never seen such dedication to a game.  Kinda brings a tear to my eye..

Whew, I would have had a heart attack or something serious if these forums were happy about something happening with SWG...

From my understanding, this is how it works:

To get the event started, the server population needs to complete a series of quests.  Once they're done, the event starts.  Once that happens, you need to work together to complete quests (probably more goals) in that part of the event before it can move on to the next part (I'm guessing with bonuses depending on which faction wins).  Once the event reaches the end, the city is destroyed (in what sounds like a pretty explosive way, heh).  Once the destruction is complete, a battleground is left in it's place amoungst the ruins, probably in time for the publish with the PvP reward system.

The details that have been given out are not very detailed, it seems Friday is when the videos will be released and everyone will be able to see the SWG demo.

Rebels need to collect ST helmets.
Imperials need to collect rebel insignia.

Once they are done, an AT-ST will spawn, with 17 waves of lvl 90 elite STs, one after another.

After 45 minutes, or when last wave is destroyed, the city will go poof. When servers will restart on next day, ruins will be put in.

But please, let me know how it actually turns out.
