I forgot about this game, so I guess that's why it's going offline. I remember a few swg vets going on and on about how this game was gonna be the second coming, the sandbox we all wanted and just like swg. After the game launched those folks vanished like farts in the wind because they knew the game was terrible.

I really thought this is where my group of friends was going to end up after SWG, but it just never panned out. Sad to see another game go.

I do hope they reboot it. The game was decent, I actually enjoyed it. I would say the reason it didn't ultimately draw big numbers was it was not solo friendly in the least bit. Many deaths while trying to accomplish the most mundane of tasks. Very slow progression as a result. Setting and atmosphere, however, I thought was great.

I love Fallen Earth and have run 4 toons through it.  The strength is that the factions actually have meaning, illustrating the directions our real civilization may be going.  Real civilization is dying, and most of the MMOs I loved have already done so.  My member icon is actually the face of my first Fallen Earth avatar... Is revival possible?

The best thing for marketing a "reboot" would be to have a completely new name, basically sever any ties to connection with Fallen Earth and stop calling a reboot but rather just a new MMO. Otherwise it becomes in the same par as ie Darkfall Online reboots, these unchained MMO changes, etc. and the success of it may not trigger enough new players (ie I would be much more interested in hearing a new MMO than Fallen Earth unchained).

not bad, they lasted almost 11 years given how MMORPG do nowadays,

FE is one of those MMO that people jump on when they are bored on their Main MMO, including me, i did have a few years of stint on FE, i played for almost 2.5 years consistently in 2010 till 2013 when taking break from WoW. i even made few friends in game. good memories..

I loved the game back in the day - like a lot of these games though I kinda lost interest after it switched to a F2P model. To this day though this game still have some of the best writing IMO. Amazing world. Sadly it's been in maintenance mode for a few years now - surprised it lasted this long to be honest. RIP FE.

Loved the idea and the factions, but the game play was just off for me.

Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.

Its a good game. But dated and not supported well. Excellent lore and requires patience to achieve stuff. Patience is sadly something most people do not own in the "I want it all and I want it now" world. Similiar to Blade Runner who was close to a movie disaster financially this game suffers the same fate. Good game with very little appreciation. Not to take the blame from the devs, they grew lazy and compacent and did nothing to save this gem.

Played it for years, enjoyed it a lot. Time to let it go,

No fate but what we make, so make me a ham sandwich please.

Had so much fun in this game when it initially launched. There was so much chat and helping each other. Even the devs were on a lot talking to players. Funny descriptions on items, so much gathering and crafting. Nice quests. I miss it.

Can I just point out that civilization is not dying, you are/were playing in a fantasy. I hope the game gets some sort of revival and it is a decent one.

Fallen Earth was a great concept and the original developers (Icarus) had awesome plans for the game.
But then some years after launch they got bought out by Gamersfirst which turned the game into a f2p game with a cash shop. They then simplified character development and cut many planned features and put their development accent mostly on pvp. They also made the gathering of resources a lot less interesting.
Then it changed hands again and the game basically entered life support.

Imo, the setting was not popular enough at that time. Everyone and their aunt wanted high fantasy and not a desolate looking post apocalypse world. I loved the setting. I loved how vehicles and mounts worked in that game. But I left when Gamersfirst took over and all plans got changed.

I gave it a shot after SWG, just couldn't get into it. It was pretty evident it was always going to be a low pop game with the buggy systems that were in it.

That it lasted this long is extremely surprising to me.

I didn't like the f2p model at all.....They severely limited how much money you could have.....Not only could you not buy much on the market, but you couldn't sell decent items either. THey had some wierd quest you had to do to get rid of the gold restriction, and I did it, but it still did not remove the restriction. After a couple weeks of trying t ocontact devs, I gave up and moved on to a new game.

Still my favorite MMO crafting system. I also enjoyed how creative you could get with character development. Community was the best.

This game was really cool and felt very sand box and open world. I  loved the idea you built your mount/Atv or car that was really cool. From what i remember the crafting was veryyy deep. I never was able to put alot of time into this game because i was balls deep in WOW at the time and if memory serves me correctly i also got into Aion which had released around this games time. The one thing i remeber being a real negative about this game was it felt CLUNKY. Clunky animations, clunky combat, everything was kind of "rough" around the edges.

I would love to see a reboot of this and would definitely give it a go if they re-release it with updated graphics

It's funny how many of the beloved old games were in such a rough state.  Even the more famous and popular ones were pretty unpolished in a lot of ways.

Then that became a big turn-off and people didn't want rough, amateur games so a lot of new MMOs flopped hard.

Now with all the indie MMOs coming up, it'll be interesting to see how tolerant people are willing to be.  Because these indie MMOs are going to be even rougher around the edges than those old MMOs.
Will the years-long drought for new games grant these new low-budget games to thrive?  This genre is definitely in a curious situation.

The game was so buggy that it really needed to be taken offline to fix it. I hope they bring it back better than it was.
