OK, this is just a total rash of shit.

"Additionally, any armor, mounts or cosmetics earned in Apocalypse will transfer when the MMORPG goes live."

I am assuming the cash shop again be active and items purchased will also transfer to the MMORPG at  live.

If so, for all purposes the MMORPG has just formally launched, seeing as they are taking money and not wiping.

Apparently SteveO innovatively found a way to deliver a MMP before reaching a MVP state, sheer (evil) genius.

So this sucks. I want an MMO, not another Arena fighter.

This is not the game I paid for. Have no intereast in playing a BR type game.

You bitch when they (indie devs) sell tiers. Bitch when they sell in game items. Bitch when they take too long.

So when these guys make a beautiful functional game outside the real game to make money for the main game... You bitch.

Get it together people. This mmorpg will launch and probably soon than the others you praise.

Food for thought: all the things they showcased as actual developed assets can all to be transitioned into the BR. There's been no live footage of any of the mmorpg 'features.'

Early access is a deceptive tactic,i know it,everyone knows it ,so why is the law still allowing it?
I assume the law would simply state, nobody is forcing you to buy it.If they claim it is Early ,weather that is true or not doesn't matter,it is like a red flag warning to STAY AWAY.

As long as people keep throwing money at early access crap then guess what, this deceptive tactic will keep on going year after year.

"combat system"Well without full on knowledge of the entire game design, that is a vague statement because there is a heck of a lot that needs to go into just combat alone to make it good.Simple being polished means VERY little,a polished turd is still a turd is it not?Like i said ,it takes a lot of SMARTS,knowledge to make a good mmorpg combat system and as i have said MANY times, pvp will NOT allow a good game to flourish,it will HANDCUFF it.

The big picture, this is a FAILED game,Sharif already knew it a year ago,so he was banking on saving face with the BR idea<<<lol not too bright this guy. Then again wtf do you think Crowfall is going to be,the same crap.

Shoe string budgets and wannabe developers do NOT make great games. The mmorpg genre is pretty much dead in the water and may remain so for quite some time.I have hope that eventually a like minded true gamer type person leads a studio into making a great mmorpg,i just don't see ti coming anytime soon.

That's a powerful "incentive" to play Apocalypse, seeing as players could get a considerable advantage for the launch of the MMO.

Some will undoubtedly spend to increase their advantage if that's remotely possible, so it's no doubt a shrewd "fundraising" move...

Everything earned from through the BR will supposedly be fully cosmetic. I'm more concerned if there will even be a mmorpg.

I've been watching this topic for ages now. I swear it's been years.

If there is a "mmo" it's not made yet. Look folks. You can make an engine all you want. You can add server lobby junk but in the end that's not a mmo.

This is some daybreak class stuff here. It'd be laughed at if you guy's were craving some kind of new fix.
Anyhow remember fortnite that had a fun little mode in it no one gave two shits about.

Taking a combat system created and coded in a battle royale engine and ramming it into an engine created and coded for an MMORPG sounds like a great way to make something explode.

I bet you’d be a lot further along with thousands of hours of live combat data verse some computer simulated script and 10 devs testing. Idk I could be wrong.

And I bet you'd be a lot further along developing an MMORPG with thousands of hours of live combat data in an MMORPG engine verse live combat data in a battle royale engine.  But hey, like all harbingers, I'm sure I don't understand game development as much as all these kickstarter MMORPG-programming geniuses that will save computer gaming.

If this is / remains true that no advantage can be transferred then no real harm or foul but unfortunately the announcement didn't mention it

Reminds me, a little, of Everquest Next, and that turned out to be a complete disaster. Here's hoping AoC:A doesn't end up down that same path.

Random Trivia:  Most Battle Royale games, besides fitting the exact definition of a battle royale (a bunch of people in an arena and last one standing wins) are pretty much nearly exact video game replicants of the Japanese novel-turned-manga-turned-movie, Battle Royale (only major difference being everyone starts in different locations and without a weapon).  So that moniker is probably like, not going to go away ever because it's exactly what it says it is on the tin in more ways than one.
