Did you see the price for PS3? 500-600 dollars lol. I cant wait till xmas time LOL mommy i want a PS3 ok hun ill work another job for it. Sony itself is almost as worse as SOE. The graphics also on PS3 from what ive seen look the same as PS2 i dont really see any significant breakthrough in graphics or much maybe its just me?

We're sitting in our offices thinking of ways to upset our paying customers. I think were on track to meet that goal.

    Fixed the price there. Its too expensive, end of story. I dont give a shit about Blu-Ray or how much the disk can hold. Games are 1-6 gigs and movies are 700mb-2gigs, there is no reason for a disk that can hold 30gigs or whatever the hell it is for a console, its just completely worthless.

    Its 500 and up i could of sworn there was one starting at 400 my bad though. Yeah like i said i cant wait to see xmas time the results.

    SOE isn't making the ps3, Sony is.  Also the majority of PS2 gamers are mid teen to late 20s.  Are you really old and see that age range as children?  BTW consoles have been the standard platform for gaming for awhile now.  PS3 will succeed, whether you hate Sony or not.

    That really is too much, seems to me that the PS3 could be pushing itself out of the console market with that price. They'll have more stolen than sold!

    I just don't see them getting console gamers to cough up subscriptions. Parents will quickly see this as a marketing ploy to suck more money out of them. Console gamers have ADD, they cant play one game for more than a few days. who knows

    I never said SOE made the  PS3. Please read before you post. As for consoles there not really the standard I.E sega and nintendo are good examples. Theyll come and go as will PS1 to PS532 and XBOX 360 and up. PC'S have always been here and will continue to be here when consoles go the way of the beta vcr lol.

    Since we are talking about an association that specifically deals in Business and Consumer Research to software publishers, I would hope that they have their facts pretty thoroughly tested.

    Yes but also that doesn't factor in parents buying titles for their children, which is significant for younger age groups.  (for your last statistic)  The median age markets for the PC and console are a bit different.  Next gen systems have closed that gap a little bit, but the PC market is still older gamers, which was my original point.

    That is true, it didn't.  I was aware of that so I did a little bit more searching:

    For Console Gamers...

    Forty-six percent of most frequent game players are under eighteen years old.
    Thirty-five percent of most frequent game players are between 18 and 35 years old.
    Twenty percent of most frequent game players are over 35 years old.

    This shows that the majority (55%) of console game players are 18 years or older.

    As for the price issue.  I sure would not pay $500 for the PS3, I also did not buy a PS2 or Gamecube when they were released.  However, I do currently own a PS2, Gamecube, and obviously a PC.  I will likely purchase the PS3 (sorry, not an xbox fan) and the Nintendo Wii (hate that name) but I'll wait until the price goes down a bit, generally a year after they launch.

    Sounds about right to me , Out of say 20 people i know my age . Only about 4 have a pc 3 have 1 for gaming . Only because they enjoy MMOs so 4 including myself . But a vast majority own a playstation or xbox quite a few own a 360 . None have Kids I guess we are lucky late 20 somethings lol .
