Can you get the latest expansion in the in-game store yet? Got a ton of coins just waiting to pick it up. I'd rather not have to install it just to check.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
Please, stop this kind of nonsense. This is an announcement for the LotRO in-game store. These sales occur about every three or four weeks. MMORPG.com doesn't really need to announce discounts or specials for in-game stores.
Heaven help us all if they decide to post "stories" about specials in the PWE store.
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
I wanted to come try this game again but there is no option to buy all expansions at a discount price.
They want me to pay 39.90 for each expansion and theres like 5 of them.
No thanks.
The first 4 expansions - Moria, Mirkwood, Isengard and Rohan are available for $39.99. There are sales and also the option of earning in game credit for them as well - not saying this is quick just that it is an option.
Then there are other "expansions" - the cost of which will depend on sales.

Why wouldn't a site that features mmorpg news NOT list sales?
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

you can just become a VIP I you get them for free I thought, you can double check that ...
It is indeed worth "double-checking" since subscribers don't - and looking at the webpage still don't - get access to expansions just "quest packs".
So if you simply subscribed you wouldn't get Moria, Mirkwood, Isengard, Rohan, Helm's Deep, Mordor and .... I don't think you would get Minas Morgul either.
Now subscriptions do come with lotr points but recent releases have been priced higher in terms of points so .... harder to get as part of a subscription.
you can buy the quad pack from the lotro market for 39.99 then the other two expansions without the sale are 60 dollars total if you buy them from the market place. If you buy them from the in game store for cash it might be cheaper as the 20% is not on the lotro market. I would look for you but once you buy them you cant see them anymore
Quad Pack also used to be on a big sale during Black Friday, and can be picked for cheap.
I agree with Mendel however, this is a regular weekly tweet about the store discount for the week, hardly news-worthy... unless it's a change in direction and now there will be a news piece every week, covering the current in-game sales but I doubt it.
(just on a sidenote since Mendel mentioned PWE:
CO stepped into the second week of Blood Moon with open world raid battles, and
Neverwinter has a double refinement weekend and a chance for epic companion drops from refinement caches - don't get me wrong, I'm a LotRO fan but I believe those two are more news-worthy than a business as usual in-game store discount...)

You can get four of the expansions as a cheaper bundle, the quad-pack. And you can expect expansions to be on sale, a much better sale than you're seeing now, for Black Friday - Cyber Monday.

cheappunk and g2a have the quad pack for less than 20 bucks if you're interested in those sites. you can get the quad pack directly from their store for $40 otherwise. $40.00 isn't bad for the four expansions imo. There's a TON of content there.

This particular sale has already occurred several times this calendar year. It's on a rotation with all the other LotRO store sales. At this stage, announcements like this are far more advertising than news.

I think the point is that all other games include all previous expansions with the current game at no charge. Most folks don't want to pay $40+ for what is now leveling content.

That's true, and nobody debates it. I (and I believe the others as well) just corrected the statement about the expansions - kinda like an FYI, an informative "hey, there's a cheaper way".
The pricing policy of Turbine (and then of SSG) is indeed almost archaic, especially if you compare it to more recent f2p models. LotRO switched to f2p 10 years ago, and the model is still the same - probably will stay the same too, since they're in no hurry to change it, it seems to work just fine. If any, they change it for the worse, hello $130 Mordor and now Minas Morgul expansion...
On the other hand Quad pack is really a good bundle, especially on sale, the last few years it was available for $10 at least two times, which is almost like other games' "no charge" deal. Of course you need to watch out for the sale.

I personally thought it was more a principle issue than a money issue. I'd still be playing on the legendary server casually if the expansions were free. The game doesn't have enough content to justify a sub AND cost per expansion AND cash shop.

Just playing the game will get you plenty of points to get expansions and if you subscribe it will just add to that. I have never used real money to buy an expansion on either of my two accounts.
Just little warning about SSG.
I'm Lotro fan since release. VIP account, many played hours, everything work fine untim SSG got this game.
It's almost year when someone stole my account, sold all my bank items (tons of mats etc), transfer two my characters to another server and all money transfer somewhere.
Since this I try to send tickets, contact company through forum but nothing work.
My tickets end with automated response. No items back, no characters back, no lotro points back (~5000). Nothing.
So, if you can play and don't have any problem everything is good. But when you have any problem, don't count with SSG help.

There is always a sale on, in LotRO. The new sale is posted every week, and lasts for that week.
