The battle royale is free to play. It's pretty much Fortnite with an optional battle pass and cosmetics.
It looks to me all the code does is unlock the skin for purchase at $20.
Nah, Intrepid isn't THAT shady lol. The codes place the skin on your account. I won some armor and I didn't have to buy it. Same with the cloaks codes on several websites.
Wait a second. Isn't this the BR that they were touting wasn't going to affect the development of the game and was only for testing PvP? Now they have paid items in the BR? They announced two more modes for it?
Sure sounds like they are putting a lot of resources into this BR instead of the MMO.
Apocalypse is split into 3 modes:
1. Battle Royale - Action Combat Testing
2. Castle Siege - Large scale 100v100 PvP
3. Horde Mode - Large scale PvE (Waves of enemies)
Besides the above, they also test animations/graphics/optimization/server infrastructure/player replication/netcode/queue systems/Armory/Inventory/Quests/Stat tracking/etc. within the Apocalypse modes as they finished testing Tab-Target back in December 2017 (Alpha 0). The MMORPG is intended to be Hybrid with a mix of Action and Tab.
Then they should test those things, and not charge for additional products during said test.
they're skins who cares. theres plenty of people who want cosmetics so why wouldnt they add them (although i do agree with most people that 20$ for what is basically a recolor is ridiculous)

The reason it matters is it shows what we can expect from them during the MMORPG. The cosmetics in APOC are extremely low effort. Mostly being reskins of the same items.
This from the company that mocked BDO while making an example of how Ashes would ensure players would have access to equivalent cosmetics to not look like bums if they didn't drop coin.

They actually said that and people actually believed them?
So like, was AoC supposed to be a sub-game or B2P game instead of F2P or something? Cause if F2P, there's only two things to really sell. Cosmetics or P2W, and if you make the cosmetics equally appealing enough to F2P, that severely lowers the incentive of purchasing them, which just leaves the latter.
But ignoring reality is a thing for crowd-funded MMORPGs and their donors, so that's not unexpected.

The MMORPG is supposed to be sub based. This BR nobody asked for is free to play. They may be applying a different standard to the BR than the MMO, but even still, the free path has almost nothing in it.

Ah. I see, thanks. Now I really see why people in this thread are saying this doesn't jive with how AOC's promised business model. Yet another break away the BR no one asked for is causing. I suppose
Is nighthunger gryphon actually available in Ashes of Creation: Apocalypse?
At the moment they seem to be running at least Emberstorm Dragon -event where if you achieve certain goal in Apocalypse you'll get a skin that isn't in game yet. So I'm a bit wary as to whether the rewards they promise actually exists.
You don't have 1% of faith on them. so why you bother your self here?
Is this a competition or a place for trolls and haters to flame the game? cus I'm starting to think it's the latter.. anyway, GL to those who actually entered... and ya know what? I best most of these cry babies actually did too! Point being there's a place for this sort of thing and this ain't it, save it for the actual forum guys.

Apocalypse launched open beta with functional cash shop last december, then pulled back, and are now launching as early access.
I'd have to be a fool to still have faith in them. I'll follow them and either they prove themselves, or they don't, but they're getting no more faith.
Wow so username78954632 won, Not a bot in any way.
Not that I cared about this contest, but this just proves that the contests here are being won by bots and whoever is running the contests isn't paying attention.

...and Pantheon is just a money away.
I don't know why people love to spread negative thoughts about Ashe.
