To all you idiots who are dropping this game like a rock just because SOE joined in during beta!!! DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this game is the best MMORPG I've ever seen...so why not play it because of three stupid letters SOE!!! I hate SOE just as much as you guys do but don't let SOE ruin all your fun....This game will still be awesome because guess what.....SIGIL IS STILL THERE!!! their not gonna let SOE take over their whole system...SO GIVE THIS GAME A CHANCE!!!!!!!

Ruining the hopes I put in Vanguard is enough thanks.
Now i'm confused, who should i believe? because a lot of people have been saying the beta is terrible.

The worst thing that could happen is for me to continue testing, start to enjoy it, and then buy it and play it when it is released. Because then when SOE come along and crap all over the game 6 months later the pain will be unbearable.
As it is, I've taken a small amount of pain now and will look around for something else that is SOE-Free (and EA-Free too !)

BIG LETTERS comes across as someone who is fanatical, demanding of
attention, and/or seriously lacking in consideration of other peoples points of
views. Whether this is the case or not can be argued but your presentation of your post suggests otherwise.
In regards to the SOE portion of the post and the reason people are giving up
before the game has been released:
These gamers have invested a lot of time and effort and committed a lot of
money to the SOE corporation only to have the games that they loved shredded to
pieces by completely altering the fundamental aspects of said games. What
started out as original and engaging gameplay was eventually traded in for the
producers and marketing personnel’s idea of where the game should be going,
which coincidentally was the young, self-interested and lacking of any form of
commitment, market. The games thus became dull, repetitive and lacked
ingenuity.
This is what people are afraid will happen with Vanguard: SOH, and this is why
people are not willing to "give it a chance." When it comes
down to it, SOE may not directly be involved in the design altering but when
stock-holders come along and say "make us more money" the corporate
move is to inform the game team that they need to alter their game so that more
people will buy it. That is why it is seen as a waste of time and money
to commit to something that is dictated by money-hungry conglomerates.
Hmm... sounds fishy. We've all been told that the Beta Testers hated
the game and stopped playing it long before "The Deal" was announced.
Anyone else find this a bit fishy? How are we to believe someone that
says they are from Beta that was actually PLAYING the Beta. Hah! What
a crock. We all know the Beta-Testers weren't playing, so I don't
believe you.
Actually whilst you sound like a troll, you're right ! I did mention that I might "start to enjoy it", implying that I didn't currently, but that was probably too subtle.
In fact I wasn't really doing any BETA testing at all any more. I'd log on in the evening and spend 15 minutes getting myself all excited about the game as a whole or a quest, or some new skill I hadn't tried yet. Perhaps even just try to go to an area I hadn't been to before to see what was there and if I could break anything.
However, before 30 minutes had passed I was disappointed again. The game was still the generic, boring, soul-less, laggy (with only 100 people on it !) wilderness. Kill generic mob A), collect generic loot
After 6 months of BETA the game hasn't really moved on in the key area of gameplay. There is no 3rd generation, it is just a marketing gimic. As a tester, "Bread today, jam tomorrow" is fine, but there is no glimpse of any jam coming along in the future that might make me want to play it. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't see the sense in testing a game I don't see myself playing when it comes out.
I guess that's why the other BETA testers have stopped - they have seen the future and realised that the present (EQ2 or WOW) beats it hands down.
Despite all this, I'm a sucker for punishment and a Brad fanboi, so I probably would have kept
logging in after each patch just to see if things had turned around,
but there's no chance of that now due to SOE.
one reason for me not playing this game is soe's involvement, but not the only one. i have a friend that beta tested and said it was terrible. he said the game is basically a copy of eq1 and that all the players are basically a clone of one face...there were many many other reasons he said it was one of the worst games hes ever played, but i will not go into it any further...
Sigil is learning the hard way not to anger the anti-SOE crowd. There is no way of knowing how many players they have lost already due to dealing with SOE but it's easily in the thousands. Vanguard is no longer on the "Most Anticipated MMORPG" top 10 because we made it happen and there is nothing you SOE fanbois can do about it.
We anti-SOE gamers are a very strong presence in the gaming world and we're not going anywhere. Don't like it? tough cookies
funny how someone will say.. " game sucks, i was in beta." or " i have a friend that was in beta." just to try to get people to jump on their " I hate sony" badwagon.
To those people I say, get a life.. come back with them screenies, avi's that you would of taken if you really were in beta, And prove what you say is true.
Ugh, not you too steve. I thought you had a grain of integrity in you, but I guess the evil satan of SOE was just too much for you to bear having anything to do with Vanguard. Guess what man? Vanguard will be the same game no matter who publishes it. Have fun playing....well nothing.
$OE FANBOI ALERT...yes,$OE will never ever ruin Vanguard as they have never ever ruined $WG and never ever planned or even tryed to launch SWG on consoles while they were denying it...nope $OE would never lie to their paying customers,$OE treats it's paying customers with respec ...always.

Seriously,I dont know how $OE maneged to convice the devs of vanguard to join them,poor guys probably have being living under a rock and didnt notice that every gamming company is trying to avoid $OE and they do the opposite of what $OE does.
They cant as that would break the NDA they signed even more than they have already done by posting. You know the one that says you cant tell other people anything about the game - good or bad.
I'm not going to give more of my money to $oE. Period.
I'm done with Vanguard. Warhammer here I come!
