I think that it is coming alot sooner than 3 years, TBH id expect it b4 2021 as its been worked on for a while now already...
only thing that worries me is are they gonna do a fallout76 and totally backpedal on the no Pay 2 Win microtransactions they did say only cosmetic and no P2W in a Q n A!
Also they did have a playable demo area for D4 at blizzcon so its further along than suggested! people like kripparian have streamed it on twitch

Adventure Mode outside of GRifts just isn't rewarding at all. Greater Rifts get boring really quick. I'm sure some content will be more rewarding than others but I hope there is some diversity in choices.
He's probably right about 3 years. Thinking this is coming out next year is a huge stretch. It's been in development a long time but I'm guessing they completely changed their design when they saw Lost Ark, so this iteration is probably a year in the making.
just cosmetics kinda like what D3 has and more wings pets probs dyes armor skins, and now since chars are more customisable on creation hair skin tone tattoos etc etc list goes on
But it was gonna get announced last blizzcon tho dude but was pulled last second, this game will need to be out within 2 years because games like wolcen (carnt wait for this) lost ark (meh) last epoch (looks alright) and many more changes to path of exile are sure to come, blizzard need a new title out within the next 2 years because they havent really put anything our for a while now (i dont really count expacs as a full game)!
I have a conspiracy theory about this. I suspect they may have done some work on Diablo IV, but it was very preliminary work. They scrapped it shifted focus on Diablo Immortal and other projects. After the Diablo Immortal announcement flopped at last years' BlizzCon, they went all hands on deck to resurrect Diablo IV and get something ready to show this year. That's why we see D3 assets with reskinned character models. Also, I think this game is 3+ years away from launch (at least) because they fundamentally had to jump start the development after last years' BlizzCon. I've also heard from one person in a position to know, that certain developers on the Diablo team have been in 'crunch mode' for over 6 months.
I don't believe they were going to announce D4 last year. I think that was a line of hooey released to games' media as a CYA.

It looks like population could be a little bit more controlled in D4, so maybe we won't get the glorious insanity which was Midtown Patrol. But, still hopeful.
Stop acting like you know what you are talking about especially right after you finished prying your foot out of your mouth for being so wrong about D4.
Not on a locked down console though. PS4 and Xbox One are not yet cracked even.
