I was very disappointed in DX11.I played it for whatever Steam says,i think around 10-12 hours, got bored and never wanted to go back in.IMO this could have been released 10 years ago because nothing is newish or creative. For the era of game design it is one of if not the worst of all the DQ games.
8.5 is laughable, more like a boring 5/10 as an 8.5 indicates a masterpiece which it is VERY far from being.

I disagree. It is a masterpiece. Maybe you don't like the JRPG gamestyle, but for those who do DQ11 is a masterpiece that has one of the most suprising and deep stories in the genre as well as a fast and snappy combat system.

The story starts almost absurdly simple and cliche but as you progress you'll be cathched by it and slowly come to realize that this is as epic as it gets.

It's great strenght is the characterization. This has always been an edge japanese developers had on western developers, but DQ11 is a prime example of it. As you progress deeper in the game story, you start to really love and care for some of the characters and the game uses humor and emotion to great effect.

I played the demo and liked a lot, I jut need to buy a full copy. The characters look like Dragon Ball characters because Akira Toriyama is the designer.

first rule I need to ask is, its there a dhamra temple on it?

after the dragon quest 7 no dragon quest live up to they old games, they raised the graphics, but lowered a lot the gameplay

I legit laughed out loud at the idea of an 8.5 being a masterpiece.

Does a 9 out of 10 give you a handjob while you play it?

Does a 10 out of 10 solve the eternal question of the human condition and cure cancer?

LOL JRPG's are my main go to game preference.I also own all the Dragon Quest games.I got so bored i cannot even remember the story aspect,i doubt there is even a good one or i would have surely remembered. When i think of QUALITY story i think FF10,the story felt like a real world a real story throughout every sequence of the game and not bits and pieces like most games.

I played DX11 on release so i can barely remember anything, then again if nothing was very exciting, why would i remember?Matter of fact i got so bored i instead went and played several days of FFV not caring at all to go back into DQ11.

Seriously? I thought the Mermaids Curse was a great story, along with a few others in the game. Some were meh, but overall I enjoyed my 100+ hours in that game.
