since the last patch i cannot even run this game , its a Joke Really , i had to Uninstall the game, that i have been playing since day 1, Even my Old crappy computer could run the game Perfectly Prior to these patch's
i can run most other games on max (Online Games)
Really hope they fix this problem it Blows my mind actually
My old PC (i7 920, 8gb ddr3, HDD, GTX970) plays PoE just fine. With a decade old CPU and 5 year old GPU.
The guy said On MAX, he is one of those that must run all games on Max settings or nothing, so basically he won't even be able to run Diablo 3 or 4 so its not even worth replying to his comments. The game runs even on a i7 laptop 4~5 years old which is what I was playing it with last year till my new computer on Normal settings.
His intention is to draw a negative where it doesn't exist, could all games optimize for all possible versions of computers, sure, but that is a general statement for all games not just POE.

So, ignoring the marketing characterization and only look at what's happening, 2 things are happening:
1. They are creating a new campaign for the same game, with updated graphics, and some changed mechanics
2. Those updated graphics will eventually be patched into the old campaign
Boiled down and ignoring timing, they are basically updating the graphics to the game, and adding a new campaign, or a horizontal expansion instead of a vertical expansion (maybe they had to do horizontal to setup a later vertical expansion).
So it's essentially a relaunch. POE 2 has the entire POE 1 campaign and all of your microtransactions transfer over. That's perfectly fine with me, they wanted to make a dent around the same time as D4 coming out so why not I guess.
If they are overhauling the engine, to make it smoother, and more capable of adding some things they have been wanting to, unclustering the mess it is now, I am all in. Even if its not a brand new "built from the ground up" engine. That to me is one of 2 things that has hurt PoE in the last few years. The engine needed some love. And I assume the only way they can clean it up is to do a PoE 2 and totally rework some of the engine. I am guessing using same "base" engine for the 2 games will allow them to cross content and updates between the 2 games easily.
Yep, in terms of what will be exclusive to PoE 2 that PoE 1 doesn't get, its basically just an alternate campaign with new character classes (who have a different passive tree and ascendancies) you can opt into when making a new character. Dev's confirmed that everything else, be it the graphics or the new gem system, will apply to all characters no matter if they are POE 1 or 2. Which I think is cool enough, although it's more like a huge horizontal expansion than a sequel (again, I personally have no problem with that)
I Dont understand this comment section from ppl being confused that it is a new seperate game to ppl thinking engine isnt getting any meaningfull upgrade .
Its same game u will be able to choose if u wanna play new campaing or old one .
Yes it is same engine but its getting much needed upgrade : Physical Based engine with improved lightning , arrorws actually getting stuck into objects , new character models, gear actually changing how your character looks, etc.
Diablo 4, Torchlight Frontiers, and now Path of Exile 2 on the horizon is amazing news.
I hope the RTS genre sees the same kind of resurgence as the A-Rpg one we are witnessing.
Dude thanks for reminding me about torchlight frontier , just dl'ed the game (had a alpha key from way back) and holy shit the game's good! really good improvements from last time i played.
I stopped playing PoE due to the convoluted money system and lack of a viable in game trading system. If PoE2 has those two things I'll be all over that game.

I doubt PoE will ever be for you then. The trading system is what makes PoE, PoE. They have already veto'd the idea of an auction house and it is unlikely they will ever change their stance. The reason the trading system is so vibrant in PoE is BECAUSE it is a little inconvenient to trade. There is also value in having knowledge of what things are worth ect.
The alternative is play in SSF, where you can't trade.
Pretty cool way of doing a II with stash tabs and all transferring.

Animations and graphics are much better, just watch the gameplay.
