The Open Beta for NetEase and CCP's co-developed EVE Echoes is now live today. Capsuleers eager to venture into a new version of New Eden on mobile can do so on both iOS and Android devices starting today.

    Be nice if I could actually try the thing - IOS link takes me to some tesflight site where I am informed the beta is full.

    Just do it! Contrary to the naysayers there are lots of new-bro friendly corps that are willing to forge you into a battle hardened fleet member. I would suggest just going balls deep into a wormhole corp right from jump street. There are amazing isk making opportunities for new-bros in there with little skill points. We got some new players and put them down on gassing, which is pretty lucrative. These guys would join fleet ops when they could and gassed the rest of the time. The concentrated their funds on skill injectors and quickly got into ships more useful to themselves, the corp and wormhole life in general.
