Sadly this is the one topic that really ruins gaming for me.
Even way way back during my days playing UT99 there were tons of cheaters,i don't get their lack of mental aptitude, your NOT doing anything except pressing the trigger button, you earn nothing by cheating and there is no satisfaction knowing you did not achieve anything yourself.
At that same time era,Counterstrike was a joke, for the sake of it,i found about 8 full length pages of hacks for that game, yet is was and still is popular,i figure popularity reigns around cheating.
Cheat hacks were the reason i stopped enjoying COD games and no longer buy or play them.So i am sifting through Steam see a couple games i might like to try and in the reviews/comments,mention of tons of cheating liek warping around a map and the devs ban anyone who talks about it claiming it raises attention to the cheat, well FIX the damn thing instead of pointing fingers.
Geesh even when Atlas was a booming game in the beginning, tons of cheating turned people right off, spend MANY hours building stuff only to see cheats ruin it all.
This is why i detest pvp now a days,it has no place in gaming because it ALWAYS encourages cheats...ALWAYS !!.Sure gamer's are so sad there are tons cheating even in pve, however it doesn't affect me for the most part but yes game economies can be broken by cheats.
Worst part is devs do not care, heck they won't lift a finger until tons of people complain or threaten to quit the game.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Their satisfaction is knowing they've screwed with people adn those people are angry. That is what makes them smile.

I always thought Bethesda was over-hyped and seen as a sort of gaming saints because of having had hits on the past.
But what happened since 76 is a monstrosity that is hard to understand it feels like they are doing it on purpose.
As far as the easy to hack design of the game was expected, their singleplayer titles are as they are, the persistent multiplayer go should be expected while hoping they didn't, they indeed had a client-sided design that obviously backfired immensely with the exploitation it opens. It's literally Online game 101 I baffles me how did this decisions got the greenlight --'
Tbh, I smell a class-action lawsuit in their near future if they arent able to give everything back to people. People are paying real money for items that can be taken away from them without their consent or the consent of the developers......Good luck Todd....
1 year ago! This stuff was wide open how ridiculously designed this was for multiplayer, It beyond comprehension one year later and the issues that were raised up finally get seriously exploited, the 2 biggest hits just 1 week apart.
The ending phrase of number 4) of that print, just see what happened last week. Everyone knew but Bethesda, well they surely knew when IGN did a whole article raising serious concerns on vulnerabilities they said were untrue... but low-effort money is best business --'

They had the right amount of hype if the only thing that matters was the amount of content there is in a game.
Bethesda has a huge problem with the simple fact that "Live Services" are a thing now. Essentially publishers are seeing how much more profitable it is to keep players in the same game forever and exposed to your monetization, compared releasing lots of smaller games and hoping they buy your next one. And well with how well other companies are doing in making "Bethesda style lots of content" games (now that it's a profitable genre), Bethesda is kind of right to fear for its future and try to pivot to whatever they can.
Practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent.

Take a Fallout 4 mod, slap some cheap netcode on it to make it multiplayer and presto! It just works... for any hacker who bothers.

They did the jump but they can't absolve themselves if you read previous post the modders have exposed the massive vulnerabilities with the game 1 year ago!
IGN did an article exposing the same massive weaknesses on exploits, they respond saying they were "untrue".
They had 1 year to work on fixing major exploitation vulnerabilities that were openly raised back then, and bam, the exploits happen, and then after another disaster for the game's playerbase is when they do a fix, seriously no excuse, this company is on a whole other level just no care at all
I'm sorry I just don't feel bad for FO76 players anymore. It really does seem that Bethesda doesn't have any concern once they get your money & that has seemed their approach since the beginning with this game so for players still playing FO76 they are NOT asking for it, but things like this shouldn't be surprising neither. It really seems like the company has been taken over by that Todd Howard's persona too.
Come on guys the hackers are just ensuring they have something in their stocking for Christmas. Todd had some repair box retail therapy the other day now its the hackers turn.
A malicious group will always find a way. How ridiculous to blame Bethesda over what a Malicious Group does. Man this is what is wrong with gaming.
Finding Security flaws and fixing them is no small feat, and it takes time. Heck back in the Day WoW had a hack program out there that allowed people to enter God Mode. Botters still exist in every MMO, Hackers still pervade every FPS.
Lets be real, you blame the criminal not the victim. Well logical people with a modicum of respect and dignity do. The modern community that HAS to criticize everything would rather wstch their house burn.

But Bethesda said these security flaws were untrue. Only now, with shit hitting the fan, are they acknowledging them. Bethesda said everything was fine when they knew it wasn’t, thats the problem.
And since this is about stuff being stolen that cost people real life money, these people have every right to complain imho.

First, since it took over a year post release for this particularly onerous issue to appear apparently it isn't as easy to hack as many make it out to be, or this would have surfaced long before.
Second, most of the people I see strongly complaining aren't actually playing the game nor are there hundreds or even dozens of players screaming they've actually been hacked. (Yet)
Third, apparently most of these hacks (including this most recent) are confined to the PC version...I'm told they can't and don't often occur on the console version which I confess at this point is making those platforms more attractive.

Is anyone surprised? Using the same Engine and Tools they used to make the most moddable game in existence (Fallout 4), it shouldn’t come as a shock for anyone...except for Bethesda.
It’s ok for a single player game, obviously not for a multiplayer. They created this game with their arse, as a quick way to make money.
