As a critic of VR.....

I was given a Occulus Quest for Christmas.....
I was considering taking it back, but started reading up on the Quest and how it's completely wireless (One of my biggest critiques for other headset). If you're going to be stuck in front of a computer....why not just play the dam computer lol.
So I decided to open it up and try it out....and holy moly is this headset awesome.
I've seen some other post their experiences with it on here so I just wanted to say I am right there with all of you.
As someone who though VR was a joke until future development, I can tell you that while more development will make it that much better, it's fantastic as it is now.
I think I have spent over 100 Hours just sitting downstairs, away from my computer, in online Casino's playing Hold'Em.
Another 100 in Orbus, which is the best option for VR MMO's right now
And probably 20 in Beast Sabre and 20 in Boneworks.
The big critique I see about the quest is that it can't play alot of the PC headset games...but the face is we are PC MMO players...which means we usually have pretty beefy computers, and that means beefy enough to stream anything we want wirelessly from our computer to the headset. I play Boneworks, Die, Skyrim, and pretty much any other PC VR game from the comfort of my lounge chair with perfect frame rate.
Now, I have seen a few other critiques that say the screen isn't as good as some of the other Headsets. On this, I can't make a comparison, as I have never used the others. But I cant help but feel that this is a small sacrifice to make for being completely wireless. And the fact is, when you are immersed in a completely VR world like Orbus, the graphics seems to matter far less. (And lets face it, graphics aren't the point of VR. It trumps in a different way with visuals. When it comes to Star Citizen, ill stick to my PC :P)
Even like someone else said in here, watching surround Netflix while laying in bed in AWESOME!
If anyone on here is on the fence about keeping their or buying one themself. I would 100% recommend it. My first impressions was the first time I've felt like that about a game or system since opening my N64 at 8 years old.

But we will see. I have several friends who have had VR headsets for years and still use them so I can't say I have seen the same. Also, even if the actual gameplay games get old. Like Beat Sabre etc....I honestly don't see the Netflix viewer or Hold'Em ever getting old considering I have been playing Hold'Em in my local casino for 10 years and still do lol.
