    The American holidays? Presidents' Day is an American holiday. The 4th of July is an American holiday. The religious holidays celebrated in December are celebrated all over the world, wherever their adherents may be found, and are certainly not uniquely American.

    I was more surprised that there is a studio and that they are actually celebrating anything...

    'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless. 

    It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

    It is just huge resource waste....'

    Think of American as adjective. An American studio uses American holiday schedule, as opposed to holiday schedule of from some other part of the world where the number of free days is often different even if you're celebrating same holiday.

    Let’s be honest... with how utterly incompetent this team has proven, this is really just a tiny blip on the radar. They can’t even get their “sale” events to work... forget about a game.

    But as it’s a new year I am trying to be nicer so I won’t list all their screwups and “misstatements”.

    So, they claim that Settlers of Elyria launched in December.  Can anyone confirm this?  We knew about the hiccups, did they actually cure that problem?

    It “launched” for about 15 minutes but was so bug ridden they had to immediately take it down and it’s been down since.  I think it’s been 2 or 3 weeks now.

    So, it wasn't really "launched" successfully.  They tried to launch, but failed.  So, it just becomes more propaganda from SBS, their spin on events that occurred in December.

    Hey, things are going so well the team was supposed to return to work on Jan 2nd and being the sport he is Jeremy gave them all two more days off, returning to work on the Mon 6th.

    I mean, it's not like there was any pressing issues, well except maybe for the totally  broken SOE, or advent calendars, or catapaults, or profession distributions on the amazing mapping tool.

    I mean, besides those of course.

    Maybe he wanted them to celebrate not working on the game a bit more? Which I can totally understand.

    Caspian said numerous times that he will be releasing the State of Elyria write up in December of 2019, or in other words we'll have an update probably in March, just like the 2019 state of Elyria. Does anyone take him seriously anymore? Honest question.

    Hey now that is not fair.  I answered a question with facts and kept it short and succinct.  I could have written paragraphs about the drama behind just this one screw up and I could have tossed in some commentary on the prior dozen similar screwups.

    What do you mean?  He was the guy who’s job it was to set schedules for CU.  He should fit right in at CoE.  Maybe he and Caspien can compare Gantt charts.

    Well, what sometimes happens to schedulers when deadlines are consistently missed?  :#

    Well, not on the SBS team, they've never met a deadline they couldn't miss,  so Kain should be good.

    Well, I recall that there was much talk about there being a lack of an "Adult in the Room" regarding SBS, so, this might be the very person to fill that role, and get things done.

    Oh.. Ask Kain has worked for City State Games (Camelot Unchained) as well as Cloud Imperium Games (Star Citizen)

    So this guy has a LOT of experience with crowd funded start-ups.

    We shall see, so far, he seems very stand up and willing to take it on the chin when things go wrong.
