1-4 months away unless something goes wrong and it gets delayed more.  Supposedly the devs went to E3 and Gamics to gain publishers and hosting companies for the game, so it should be "soon".

They didn't go to E3. They went to gamics and had a booth without showing Darkfall there. Only themselves. Doesn't seem to promising to me really.  ;(

    on the other hand..

"As of yesterday (May 12) the 1st Mechanized Infantry guild has been given access to the Age of Mourning beta. They will be helping in the early rounds of testing before anything larger is announced in regards to testing. Look for beta journals and diaries to be published by the guilds leader as things progress."

Hi, get your facts straight. They did go to E3. What Decimatus said is right.

Anyone else notice this trend where people who have no idea what they are talking about try and hype Mourning shortly after showing their complete lack of knowledge?

I don't suppose any of you Mourning fanbois have any idea why Mourning had it's forums deleted from this very website?

Or any idea why Mourning's first "launch" was a complete and utter failure?

I meant they didnt have an actual booth at e3.

"showing their complete lack of knowledge?"

Actually I've probably been following darkfall development longer than you have and havent seen much of anything in progress over the last 3+ years. A few vague , random interviews once every 6 months and some screenshots thrown out now and than.

"don't suppose any of you Mourning fanbois have any idea why Mourning had it's forums deleted from this very website? "

ya because people were posting ilegal stuff/lies about the company on these forums and there were no moderators years back so they asked them to remove it from the site. most people knows this.

and either way , mourning doesnt even exist.. it was taken over by completely different people and is now called age of mourning and well still looks way more complete and promising than darkfall. same goes for something like Age of conan. that looks to be a cool pvp game.

All I know about darkfall is that they showed what they themselves called an alpha at E3 on a lap top. It's been like 4 years and they still have an Alpha? doesnt seem like much of anything to be excited over to me. ::shrug::

back in the day when Age of Mourning was still called Mourning, their DEVs used to go another games forum and call it vapor, they actually had many alts, and it looks like the same idiots are running the show again (or at least like minded).

The truth about Mourning/Age of Mourning is that its the biggest pile of shit in MMO history. I guess theres always few idiots left to milk some money. I see if i can find that old thread about history of Mourning, its a fun read.

"The truth about Mourning/Age of Mourning is that its the biggest pile of shit in MMO history."

We're not talking about Dark and light...  you obviously never even played the game and are just repeating stupid things you read on forums that are half truths and whole lies.

Straight from a guild leaders mouth in beta for age of mourning right now:

"Actually we haven't encountered any of those problems yet, except when the server is down but that kind of explains itself. We are working on optimization, just trying to get the game running smoothly. Then packing the servers slowly at a time. It may take a while, but it will result in a better game with better stability in the end.

Also, the previous bug list would be very helpful. We are currently focusing mainly on the game breaking bugs and just noting the visual glicthes and other things. I'm sure Colton has this list that Snert made, and they may already be fixed. The game looks pretty much done honestly, just needs some fixing up in key places, optimization, and other such things."

Either way .. I'll be the bigger man here and wish both games luck because in the end it's the gamers that win out.

so im repeating things from forum and its stupid but when you quote some rabid fanboi from another forum its the absolute truth? Please, youre not foolin anyone here and besides, last time i looked this was  a forum for Darkfall , not some half-assed would-be-MMO. No one here cares your crappy game.

and here is a quote from that very same AoM beta tester you quoted:

"AoM is beautiful but very buggy, we crashed the servers many times in
just a few hours. We are here to help get everything fixed as fast as
possible so that you guys can have an enjoyable playing experience.

With that said, this game is not playable right now."

hmmm, one of the DF forum mods played DF for an hour... how does AoM look 'way more complete'?

I have played Age of Mourning/Mourning/Realms of Krel.

i am from the same country as the developers and folowed the game for a long time, i have preordered it (will never do something like that again) and have the instalation CD and login info. the game i played was well...unplayable and in much worse state than DNL, i still like the concept but they screwed me over with the preorder and then cancelling the game on me

Darkfall even in screenshots, video and interviews from those who saw it in action at e3 sounds much more developed right now.

Timber I have played your Age of Mourning and it is in fact one of the worst MMO's I have ever played.  It is nowhere near being complete.

Have you played it?  Do you have any idea what you are talking about?

The only thing that changed when the Mourning ship sank to the bottom was the publisher.  The same devs are on hand as the devs that helped in Mourning's first destruction.  When Mourning crashed and burned, the game didn't experience some miraculous rebirth.  Mourning is STILL a piece of trash not worth paying for.

The fact that I have a free beta slot will mean that I might test it out for the devs some point in the future just to see if they have managed to fix it.  I don't expect to find the game in a playable state 6 months from now in the off chance that they start beta again by then, but I have been surprised before.

As it stands, the fact that Darkfall hasn't shown what a masterful piece of crap it is means that Darkfall is far ahead of the Age of Mourning in terms of being vaporware or not.  6 months from now we will see first hand how good Darkfall is when we are sitting in the beta.  And 6 months from now, we will get another chance to see how lame Mourning is, or we will get to see some real improvement towards an actual game.

As it stands RIGHT NOW, Mourning has already proved that it is Vaporware.  Darkfall will give us a chance to determine it's status in the coming months.

maybe it wasn't complete a year ago when anyone played it...  no one knows what its like now except people testing it now and that guild is probably the only ones and have said it looks complete , just buggy and unstable that is what betas are for.

**The same devs are on hand**

some of the people working on of Age of mourning now are ex EA / Blizzard ... it's a usa based team. the old team hasnt touched that game since the worlds were closed.
