Lol, one of the improvements didn't work, the activity finder, and the other isn't noticeable, the supposed slight fps increase. Don't have high hopes for anything else, if anything I've seen more bugs, lag, rollbacks, etc. in the past few months.

ESO has the worse patching/install system of any mmo i have played. I won't believe this until it's really on the live server. The install says the game needs 87 gigs of free hard drive space and i have 137 gig free yet i get the not enough hard drive space message and shuts down.

They've talked about a 30 gig reduction when this next update goes live and everyone is forced to do a full reinstall. But yeah, over time I've learnt to take everything they say about performance with several grains of salt. They talk the talk but the results very rarely show improvements and they always add new bugs.
Technical expertise is not the Bethesda / ZOS forte. PR used to be but even that's wearing very thin after FO76

I went to the site and that 30 is for consoles. It's only 16 for pc.
It's funny how hit and miss the performance is in this game. I have run Cyrodiil at 4k without a hickup. Other nights I can't run the game at 1080p and I keep getting kicked to log in screen every 10 min. You just never know what your going to get.
Yeah ESO is a strange beast. One time it told me it only needs 87 gigs of free hard drive space and when that didn't work i got rid of some stuff to free up space. Then i swear i went to install it again and it said it needed 137 gigs of free space. This had to be after 30 minutes later from making room on my hard drive.

Honestly I don't mind. I was downloading the game 170 Mbps on wireless internet. Insane servers, they have.

So you're saying it's like a box of chocolates?

Until we get decent animations and animation cancelling is removed I won’t be back.
The fact that animation canceling is seen as gameplay by the community, we will not see it removed. Builds are built around that shit. It's so dumb
Never say never. Diablo 3 is taking away animation canceling from one ability that was overperforming in the latest patch. It took them nearly 8 years and it's only one of the many that can be cancelled but hey, baby steps:
The animation for the Fires of Heaven rune can no longer be cancelled early.

The only people who have an issue with animation canceling are the people who do not properly understand it. With animation canceling its not possible to just spam more skills than Global CoolDown allows. All animation canceling is is cutting the animation from your light attacks not your skills. The game only allows 1 skill per GCD so there is absolutely no issue with AC. AC Isnt just soem magic thing that allows you to throw more than one skill per GCD and thats where the confusion comes from.

The more you know.
I also won't come back until animation cancelling is gone. I do understand animation cancelling, and I did it myself when I played. The problem is that animation cancelling is absolutely unnecessary from a mechanical or gameplay perspective, and was originally a bug that the developers have not been able to fix and decided to just balance around it. It's not fun to do, it makes my character look like he is spasming everytime I cancel a light attack, and it is so powerful that not doing it makes you significantly weaker.
ESO is supposed to be all about choice, but this combat "feature" that is incredibly divisive isn't optional if you want to be competitive. If you like it, great, but it is absolutely something that turns a good number of players away from the game (a common refrain from many people regarding ESO is the game is great, combat isn't, especially animation cancelling).

Animation cancelling is really such a cop out.
Oh and welcome to the forums.
Animation cancelling is also a thing in many more games than people realize and people hardly mention it in those other games.
As I posted above, it's a thing in Diablo 3 but rather that get rid of it altogether they are forcing animation completion on 1 ability out of hundreds that can be canceled only because they are using it as a nerf for one build using a brand new set they just added 3 months ago, that was over-performing. They could have nerfed other more significant things about that build but they chose animation canceling as a mild nerf so they can evaluate it.
People in that community consider it a high skill play-style and do it by using force move bound to the mouse wheel or something else, to cancel by stutter-stepping. People that can do that reliably are considered top players and you never see any controversy about it on D3 reddit or Blizz's forums.
And I know it's not the same but even WOW classic has add-ons for hunters to help you time precisely when you use a skill so you don't lose your auto-attack damage that could get unintentionally cancelled if you use the skill too soon. If it's a game people will find ways to squeeze more damage than intended out of it.
Animation Canceling in ESO has never bothered me but what does bother me is their habit of doing ham-fisted wholesale nerfs every patch to try to rein in the Champion Points power creep.

I really don't get all the drama around animation canceling. The only people who "need" to use it are people battling for the very top spots on the leader boards. All of the content in the game in the game can be completed without using it. I've never seen anyone asking for a group saying AC is required. It's a non factor for probably 99.9% of players from what I've seen.
