funny you say that when your profile says you are currently playing MU Legends. A game that started development 11 years ago then got replaced by another version 4 years ago and also has mobile graphics and is based on a 19 year old game.

The games graphics arnt bad they are 2012 top of the line but the gameplay gets really stale and tbh its just a microtransaction cash grab the grind is real in this game too and was to disappointed there was no beast race in PSO2 (i played the jap version about 2 years ago the english translation patch and it let me play in the jap region)

PSU games > PSO games in my opinion

If it plays the same as the Dreamcast version back in the day, it gets old REAL fast.

Without having played either, I say with reasonable confidence that two games developed and released more than a decade apart probably do not play the same.

I belive pso2 had skills to use this time, on the first only techs, spells actually,

I will play it to hell and back then. I LOVED pso 1/2 and even 3. Hell, I might boot them up on my Gamecube soon.

Now I need a EU release confirmation SEGA.....

I sold my collection for a pretty penny (and my Saturn collection for a fortune) but my all time favourite game Skies of Arcadia came to Gamecube as well so I am holding on to that one. I do miss Metropolis Street Racer, it later became the Project Gotham series but that first one has a special place in my heart. As does Shenmue, Sonic Adventure 2, Soul Calibur PSO etc. etc. etc. How the mighty have fallen.

Worth rechecking back the game again? As this wasn't the first PSO2 English release. I remember played PSO2 English back then when it was under PlayPark, and it was very short lived

Playpark was the the SEA version right that one was not good. That version sucked and also the economy was very bad in that.

  • MaridMarid Member UncommonPosts: 128
This looks like a nice little game! I'll probably get this...it doesn't have the greatest graphics, but the character creation is good and the female characters are nicer looking than any you'll find in most Western MMOs. Plus, it's a Sci-Fi game...Yay!

This game looks a lot like a MMO I use to play many years ago called 'Space Cowboy'.

I played the sea version many years ago as well. Iirc, it was f2p with a subscription model. Game was playable solely as a f2p player, but pretty restricted with limitations like no housing and marketplace slots(correct me if I'm wrong, been a while). I wonder what monetary model this version is adopting, does anyone know?

The game is awesome loads of content and really fun to play.

I still play on the Japanese servers and it's a blast. Over 1000 hours content.

    There is a caveat though.

    Graphics are dated.
Depending how they monitise the game will be if it's worth playing.
God I'll have to redo all my classes to max level.

It is a brilliant game but may be a few years to late.

If Microsoft makes the costumes buyable with microtransactions it could be very expensive.

For those interested I have over 4 years playing this game on ship 9 Japanese servers.

I've played PSO2 - JP and the game has decent graphics now... The gameplay is the same as PSO when it first came to the XBOX360, only the storyline and classes have really changed... The NA release is not region locked so it can be played from any country and downloaded world-wide. They are not going to release a EU or any other version after this one as they are already working on the next installment.

I've been playing pso2 for like six years now.

The graphics are hella fine with the aesthetics of the game. Hell some places are down right glorious and others kinda bland like Tokyo 1.0.

Point is. The game is old as balls and anyone who cared is literally playing right now on ship 02.

Watching folks on the fence over PSO2 is down right funny, like we all know sega of america is going to screw this up so why even bother with NA. That's sort of the general mentality about pso2 in the NA right now.

You'll probably see a rush to max cap when it comes out and folks trickle back to JP because why the hell would anyone want to play on the NA version of this well established mmo.

Literally anyone who was a fan of pso already has a pso2 account lol AND if they don't it's just because they didn't get passed the "Capcha" boss that is the hiragana/katakana keyboard.

Is it like PSO1? Holy shit what era of mentality is that. Of course it isn't even close.
This is a heavy action game and frankly I have no idea how anyone could say "It's just a grind". Because...that's mmo's lol.

Once you play on expert and are maxed on good ole exp that's when the skill shows, that's where real damage checks get seen. Until like level 90 the game isn't the real game.

PSO2 is a max cap to play the good content type of game...not a grind to max cap and then just do nothing. Before cap the game is incredibly easly. Ultra hard and enemies now have break conditions etc.

JP POS2 gives you everything you need to level incredibly fast to get to the gear grind like this seasons Novel weapons.

Unless this is the grind complained about the only grinding I ever do is with my gear adding +1's.
Otherwise I just play and often forget i am even "Grinding".

PSO3 or whatever is currently in dev so...

I'm a fan of PSO and I didn't get on the JP servers, after all this time. I'd rather have a localized version here, and I waited, hoping it would come, and it has.  There are a lot of people like me. People that like the game, and want a western version.

Perhaps it will be a 1 to 1 port, maybe some things will change between versions, I don't know, but I know I'll be playing it for a while.
