Attention to detail is off the charts.  Your going to need a beast of a PC to play this.
Yeah...So I ordered Sqd 42 a couple of years ago and back then I was confident that I would be able to play it on my PC at the time.

This video changes things hahaha. I've been happy with a console for the past few years, but SQD 42 is a big drawback...

SO, I've been poking about, thinking about getting back into the PC gaming scene in a big way again and I was wondering - what would you all recommend using to play Sqd 42 on?

I've been using WePC.com a fair bit, checking out their $1000 build and what they recommend as far as CPUs go - but I don't want to go too big or too hard when it comes to putting together a PC build...

Basically, what I'm asking is what are you all going to be using to play Sqd 42? I'm not bothered with playing SC too much, I'm of the belief that it probably won't be released this side of the millennium, but a single-player game seems much more manageable and realistic in terms of releasing a finished, full product - so I'm not too fussed about rendering/playing SC at the moment.

Pls help I need my fix of Mark Hamill in a decent space fantasy game.

    Thanks!

Your PC will be out of date if this game ever releases. Why not wait? Or are you just needing an excuse/justification to buy a new PC?

I wouldn't buy anything yet, especially based off a tech demo of a game you don't have interest in and literally no demo of the one you do.

    >>> what are you all going to be using to play Sqd 42? >>>

A solid state disc and a fair amount of RAM is highly recommended.

Processor, grafic card, mainboard .... good upper middle is perfectly ok.

Take a look at this website ... you can click into the grafic. This shows you live what rigs other people are using at the moment playing Star Citizen .. and what performance they get.

    Have fun

Visual porn, but no game play. How disappointing, yet totally expected.

Funny thing:  If you look at the graphics hardware that sold with 'Free Star Citizen/Sqd42/ship/etc', they pretty much can't play the alpha versions available now!

That said, CIG always said that they were aiming at the high end of hardware, so you probably should wait til a more legit release.  Hopefully it won't require advanced quantum computing.

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

Graphics hardware sold with 'Free Star Citizen/Sqd42/ship/etc  .... Are you referring to the AMD offer with the free Star Citizen access and the cool looking AMD paint scheme?

Because that still works fine with Star Citizen Alpha, contrary to your claim "....they pretty much can't play the alpha versions available now!..."

The last R9  graphics card came off the factory line in late 2015 iirc.  Four generations of AMD graphics cards ago, soon to be five.  Max 4gb memory.  You comfortable with that?  I guess they still might run the SC Alpha, but that's pretty long in the tooth in graphics years.

No dispute that the ship looks cool ... ;)

What card are you running now?

    >>> What card are you running now? >>>   Guess ;-)

But i have more than one computer, different rigs.

The AMD ship skin is IMHO still the best looking ship skin.

...I think I'm looking for an excuse. I got every faith SQD 42 is coming, I just don't know when. TBH I want to see what the new consoles have got, but I'm pretty sure that they are going to be outstripped by PCs anyway.

    Thats really helpful, thanks!

cramming my PC full of RAM is something I would like to do anyway, so that lines up nicely!

[...] Hopefully it won't require advanced quantum computing.
Quantum Computing is very good to find the shortest connection between 52 dots but lacks at raw computing power that games need :) (except if it is a connect-the-dots game)
