As Bradford is installing Phantasy Star Online 2, an MMO based on an JRPG he loved played on his Gamecube years prior, it got him thinking: What other JRPG worlds would make for a good MMO? Here are his thoughts.

The Suikoden series would be perfect for a RvRvR game... And finally...Shining Force anyone ? Feels like its style and setting could fit as well...

Kyleran on yours sincerely
'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'
Gdemami absolutely not being an armchair developer
I would expand this topic a bit more broadly and say certain features of certain games even if its not the entire games themselves, like the whole armor transformation of legend of dragoon or summoning robots like in the xeno games (even though a couple of games tried to do both like S.U.N. having pretty much a 'dragoon' and RF Online letting you pilot mechs). AND MORE MMORPGS WITH SCHOOL SETTINGS DEVS!
Suikoden
Front Mission (tactical, I know)
Star Ocean
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
I don't know if Square Enix would want to cannibalize FFXI and FFXIV with a third mmorpg. Maybe when FFXI dies out.
They already have an MMORPG based on that universe called Dragon Quest X (or would be Dragon Warrior X in the rest of the world if it came out here).

Fallout would make an awesome mmorpg. So would Might&Magic. A real Drakensang Mmorpg would too, especially one ion the vein of the Realms of Arkania trilogy. A Wasteland mmorpg based of WL2 would be great.
If so, my answer is Dark Souls.
Be such a cool universe to explore further. PvP already thematically appropriate with Covenants. Already "kind of" an MMO in that if you play it online, you can and do run into random people, sometimes to fight, sometimes just their ghost... or on purpose for jolly cooperation!
Honestly I'm just hoping Elden Ring is more like open world Dark Souls with better/easier/bigger co-op without also forcing the PvP, which while fun, is way too meta.
Star Ocean
Xenoblade
theres a few others but id say right now these would be my top 3.
