First game I'd say would be Legend of the Dragoon. Had quite an interesting combat with combos and timing (I guess people who hate twitch like reflexes would hate it). Each player could have a transformation into a dragonlike being that suites their character's personality or whatnot.
Breath of Fire, there's that too BUT so much more! So many interesting races, places to go through and plenty of stuff to do for a jrpg. I'm quite fond of the third instalment from my childhood.
I'm also surprised we haven't seen (at least EU & NA) a tales of mmorpg. There's so many of them, they must be selling well if they continue producing them.
Jade Cocoon would also be an interesting pokemon like game. If anyone has played it, it has quite an interesting setting and would highly recommend it! It also has fusion of creatures that makes them look different. Despite it releasing on the ps1, I think it was too early for it's sake.
Also, as someone already mentioned Front Mission would be dope for me as I love mechs (till I can customise it!). Similar game would be Vanguard Bandits which was pretty good as well.
Legend of Dragoon for me. In my opinion, one of the most underrated JRPGs ever. It could be set in the time before the game takes place, during the war between humans and winglies, and players can choose which race they want to be. I'd play it.
Legend of Dragoon... The crystals are shattered, with fragments spreading across the globe. Random people (us) discover fragments of the crystals and become Dragoons.
Chrono Trigger would be ok but would still need some tweaks and changes to get me on board.
I have already played the best ever jpn rpg FFXi,so not really interested in products that would be inferior.I say inferior because if any of these devs actually turned a single player jrpg into a mmo,it would be half assed, mostly just a login screen with a cash shop,do we really want to see more of that?
The thing about rehashing old titles is they auto sell, the developer knows that and doesn't put much effort into them.
Dark Souls ..lmao,might as well just play some Diablo type game if you want shallow game play.An rpg is meant to be a role playing experience,a robust designed game.
I rather see a brand new jrpg title that has to sell on it's own merit and not on past glory.Someone just mentioned Dragon Quest,i own them all,the latest turned me off,got bored after about 3 days, nothing coming out anymore is very well done.
So a better question is does anyone THINK these devs would remake an old jrpg into a MMO and give it the love it needs or just a fast cash grab selling it on it's past glory?
Now in saying that and having purchased many games of late including several by SE,i am absolutely shocked that FF7 looks like a lot of effort has went into it,albeit still a single player game not a mmo.
Most mmo's are just single player games with a login screen, the login screen allows the devs to run a cash shop.FF7 would not make a good mmo,it is actually imo a sloppy game design but MAYBE this new version will be great and who knows maybe SE would turn it into a mmo, although that transformation would take at least 3-5 years down the road.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I think the Star Ocean series would make for an awesome mmo setting. It shares a lot of of DNA with PSO but has a broader more varied setting. Medieval worlds, high tech machine worlds, interdimensional dungeons and so on.
The game is really good, but I like games with top views like englishtrickpro Call of Duty Mobile, which offers a new way of playing to create a new feeling.
I have to agree with several posters regarding Skies of Arcadia, Suikoden and Xenoblade. but for me based Xenoblade X more so than Xenoblade. Although I havent played Xenoblade 2, wont buy a switch for just one game lol

The colors lend themselves to roles, already. Priest (White), Rogue (Black), Warrior/Tank (Gold), Warrior/Damage (Red), Druid (Green), Shaman (Blue), Monk (Purple).
Shining Force. LET ME PLAY AS A PHOENIX!!
Loved Suikoden and Shining Force back in the day
