Definitely needs the overhaul. It could have been a great game if they had more time for it and didn't have EA forcing it out.

I can't blame EA for wanting that studio to ship a game after working on it for 7 years.

Its boring, theres no game to it, it looks great but its completely linear. I cant conceive how they could polish this turd to be a success now.

I get that, but it wasn't a solid game for most of that 7 year period and kept getting redone because the game demos that were being put out weren't liked by higher ups. Then it was forced out after 16 months of stitching together pieces of the game they had. I get wanting it to come out finally as you are putting resources towards something, but if it wasn't a solid foundation for that period of time, and it was just finally coming together, pushing out an unfinished buggy mess really isn't going to get great feedback / results.

There is a possibility they could turn this into something good. Look at FFXIV. Launched as a complete mess and the relaunched to be one of the most popular MMOs in the market today.

I hope they can pull this off. There are still a lot of people that play (Me being one of them) and the game has huge potential.

I could see them pulling it off WITH professional consultation from people who understand loot, progression, and endgame.

The game already has some of the best third person shooting combat in years. It feels damn good to play when it works properly. It's just that the game has even less content than vanilla Destiny along with poor loot design.

I thought they were supposed to be working on that?

Though inquisition was painful so hopefully they learn from that.

Joining after overhauls seems to be the way to go for me lately; With a nice sale, of course.

They won't. Too focused on everything being a live service.

Without overhyped expectations (and at a significant discount),  Anthem was great fun for me.   The gameplay and lore was cool.  Now if they can just figure out how to attach more meaning to its playing.....

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

Have to ask, but why bother at this point? The game has it's reception, i can't imagine any amount of redesign will make it a success.

Tell that to No Man's Sky, Rainbox Six Siege, and fucking Fortnite.

i enjoyed the game, but got stuck in the end game grind. My main issue was doing high level content and getting gear that was way below anything I had or needed.   I also do not like playing the mini-game of inventory management.  This was one of my main problems with the division 2.  You could spend hours trying to sort out inventory and get the proper set up.  I loved the gameplay but man the inventory was headspinning.

yep thats what im thinking. bet this "reinvention" Anthem 2.0 will be a new release and not a conversion of the existing world/game.

FFXIV is an exception to the rule. You really think EA is going to give that much backing to a failed project? Bioware is lucky they didn't just scrap it all together. Even if Anthem 2.0 is good; it won't matter. People don't really want live service games as much as people want MMOs. Players gave FF14 another chance because there isn't really any options. There are plenty of alternatives to Anthem that are both better and more developed. Even if Anthem 2.0 comes out in good shape, it will have years of catching up to do in a genre that is getting more and more saturated every year.

A better example to look at would be No Man Sky. That game had an abysmal launch, one could argue on par with Anthem launch. It has had some pretty great updates and most people will tell you the game is pretty good now. How many people are playing NMS? Average of 5k on Steam.  (They had a reasonably sized update recently) If you look at the history of the game though, it typically resides in the 2-3k active player range. Do you really think that is acceptable for a BIOWARE game? And it also does not appear like they have nearly as much dedication to getting this thing in good shape as NMS devs do. Bioware HAS to get this in good shape or Bioware Austin is toast. Ask any SWTOR player how little support their game has gotten since the company that supports their game (Bioware Austin) has had to dedicate resources to Anthem.

EA also didn't even mention Anthem in the latest conference call; shows how little faith they have in Anthem 2.0

When it comes to Bioware and any other older company like Blizzard.
All this main problem is us Humans.. All around the world who are
so fcking spoiled... Pointing at newest bioware and Blizzard games..
Who we are to judge or rate people who gave us unforgettable life experiences.
Who are this people weak and not knowing and appreciate what is life and hard work..this companies are the ones who gave you the experience no one will..
Mass effect trilogy will never happen again because of u you humans..
Andromeda had less bugs then ME trilogy and all bioware had always the same problem when it comes to that ... But their games had something none will ever happen..Just because idiot humans are cheap shit and so spoiled that they expected the game will be so smooth.. Like in dreams..
But Mass Effect Andromeda was a great thing for new comers that's how thing goes same as Starwars ..
It was bit more focused to younger crowd but that's exactly what the game needs ! and the game had less fckignbugs then all 3 games together ! shame on you humans ! idiotic brats !
And this poor people had to make Anthem..
To give us something.. yes they gave us a briliant game that u will never fckign see.. and yes it had its flaws major ones but didnt need it internet terror neither ME A . They just needed less spoiled Humans and Patients for the greatest games you will ever experience in 2010s

This is a pretty naive way of thinking. They are still providers of a product. We are still consumers of said product. That is where the relationship ends. I understand empathy, but it is pretty silly to think that our relationship goes beyond that in 99% of circumstances. We have a right to be upset about products not being up to standard.

There is a few words in that post that made me laugh and those words were >>>hard work.

IDK who is saying devs are putting in hard work but please direct me to this game built around hard work?
There are a few out there but not many.

    I wouldn't call a CONSUMER a brat for expecting a good,no a VERY good product.

Would you buy a half assed built house and just say...except it because a lot of hard work went into building it?I guess it comes down to having some knowledge in game design or not, because if not, everything looks amazing.

True but short story.I once showed a close friend a few things on game design and how people cheat and how simple some designs really are.He was actually bummed out and wished i never showed him because he said it ruined his vision of gaming and how they were made.

MOST games are using a few simple concepts and then it is a matter of how big they make the game with those simple concepts.Simply making a game bigger with more land mass and more quests does not make it a better game, just a bigger low quality game.

Which is most businesses would have resulted in that entire studio being shut down. Most folks don't get "just rush it out" chances, especially with so much money and manpower being funneled into something.

Never ever was a game released that was  fully polished and enjoyable and never will. All those games had big problems at start , but had much serious gamers at the time to understand and be patient.... From Diablo 2, Skyrim, CoD , Daoc , and many other games even WoW had major problems... Man that game was so charming that it kept it alive even now a days. And it had strange/perfect timing to release it and  to become most played mmo today..
But only because ppl sticked around.. ! Other mmos died or are dying. Except Gw2, FF..
If people were supporting games more then just trying to give a rating just to prove something  or to try to call customer service to complain about his life, because his life is fcked and and no one  gives fck about you...  (Not talking about wc 3 re hhhhhh)
