EQ protests are a thing again? Cool. I remember one from long, long ago. Something to do with Warriors.

I remember the monk protests at Thunderhead Keep in GW1 during the first 3-4 months the game was out.

I know project 1999 had a PvP server at one point, it seemed it rarely ever had more than 25 to 30 people on it VS the normal server with 2k.

    What am I missing here?

Oh absolutely, I played the p99 pvp server since it's launch. theres been a TON of issues, be they controversial changed game mechanics and issues of staff corruption early on which lead to its current state.

Interesting. I never did play on as it didn't appeal to me and assumed there was no interest

EQ was never a good PVP game, this "protest" will accomplish absolutely nothing, just look how pathetic it actually is, PVP in EQ is so unpopular that they are asking ppl that dont even play EQ to join the protest cause they know their numbers are extremely small, p99 PVP was NEVER popular, it had nothing to do with changes or staff, EQ PVP just sucks ass.

    Well good luck.

The game's pve (specifically the raiding) is so good, and has been for so long, that the pvp never got developed. When the game released the pvp people stayed with UO and by 2004 they had DAOC and Eve to also choose from.

If the devs had split their time more between pve and pvp the game might not be alive.

RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

Protesting something that never made EQ what its known for is hilarious and pretty petty.  Being an EQ player for 6 years of my life back when it was in its heyday, I dont recall ever hearing from players I came across and played with wanting more PvP.  EQ was, and always will be a PvE game first and foremost.

Yeah I played on Rallos because my friend did. I hated pvp, matter of fact 90% of the hardcore pvp server (Rallos) was strictly anti PK.

So what are they actually protesting against? Is the server being shut down due low population?
If there was a market for EQ pvp server, then they wouldn't need to protest as all the people who wanted to play it would be playing it? Never liked pvp myself in any game except wow battlegrounds but you had to go there is you wanted to pvp.

Why dont you all protest how DBG killed EQ & secretly teamed up with MQ2 so that krono farmers could c o c k block all items worth 1k+ so that noobs & filthy casuals were forced to buy krono to trade for items. Its funny that an afk mage army using 3rd pty programs to perma farm items isnt bannable or even suspendable but training that afk welfare farmer will get you suspended...
Thank EQ gods for eqemu's ( & not that toxic trash that is p99 )

I'm still pissed they recently nerfed druids so their dots wont stack anymore killing solo play through the 70s. Not so much mad they did it as I am peeved there was no discussion, no player feedback solicited just the good old silent iron fist of nerfing WTF?
