Let’s face it, games aren’t getting any smaller. If you have a laptop, chances are good that you’ve been forced to delete games and files to make room for new ones. Alongside our series on the Falcon Northwest TLX, we’re taking a look at an interesting external NVMe SSD from the fine folks at Oyen Digital. The Helix packs a meaty heatsink, small form factor, and fast speeds but is it enough to meet the daily demands of gamers and creators?

I use a Crucial X8 for storing games that I'm not actively playing but want readily available in the event I start playing the game again. It's much faster transferring games between the external SSD and PC than downloading them, but I really would like to play the games directly from the external SSD
Currently, I do not play games directly from the X8 out of fear that the SSD will get too hot and reduce its lifespan.
I'm very intersted in the Helix, but I'm curious to know if the Helix will maintain its performance without shortening its lifespan if games are played directly from it.
What are your thoughts on that?
