This game is like wine- improves with age. So much lore and story and a lot of solo content and the dungeons are awesome....prob what New World is trying to achieve ...
ESO It’s the only mmo I keep coming back to. And yes, it has great PVP too.
I can appreciate the redownload if we really are seeing improvements going forward. It isn't that I have had a lot of problems in the past but I really am all about quality of life improvements as well as performance improvements.
yeah I was on my laptop with only 250 total gigs and it wouldnt let me download it. I had to do a reset actually. It initially said like 125 GB but I think it ended up being like 68 or something like that. It was around 56 before.
There have been little to no performance improvements noticed nor is there the "big decrease" in client size. So, no idea what they actually did with this patch as those were supposed to be the biggies.
I believe that's called a SNAFU in it's original use (Situation Normal All Fucked Up.)

While not my go to game, I still enjoy it once in a while. Will DL the patch, but given the crashing problems I have been reading in the ESO forums I just might wait a few days to play.

I'm not noticing improved load times but my FPS feels more stable. I didn't have to log out and back in to get my frames back up tonight.

No idea what your pc is doing then, here I have had nothing but positive improvements, the game is very smooth for me now and even in busy areas with locked 100fps in senchal etc it was stuck at 100fps. I guess some peoples systems are not feeling it at this time but it's early days as it was only patched yesterday.
Overall here a very good update to the client, nothing like having weather/spell particles and 60 people in one area with no lag anymore while all smashing those skills.
9700k@5ghz - 2070 msi super. No idea if that helps with the patch for their optimizations, maybe some on older systems were expecting a miracle.
I haven't had the game on my PC for awhile because i knew about this update requiring a fresh install. So i had to check it out. It installed in half the time as it used to for me. And the disk space is smaller for me. Load screens seem quicker for now. And game play was smooth too.
The people i know that are having issues are the ones running it through Steam. I will never understand playing an MMO through steam. They are always problematic. And the latest Steam update that happened a few months age is a big issue. My steam library doubled in size with all the games i might have tries once and uninstalled. The only game i had installed on steam was Skyrim. Yet my hard drive space was 3/4 full.
I could not understand why my hard drive was so full. So i ran a tool to see what programs were using the most hard drive space. It was Steam at 91%. I went through all the games in the library and removed all the games i could from my account. There were games that even closed down in it. Then i removed Skyrim too and uninstalled steam which took 20 to 25 minutes to uninstall. Then i reinstalled it along with Skyrim. I got 51 gigs back in free hard drive space. I don't know what Steams issue is but i contacted them about this and have heard nothing from them.
Nothing new. This is the same trash as it was at release.
These devs have zero freaking clue how you should properly download and install a game.
They should take note of blizzards launcher and install process. Or pretty much every other damn game in the world.

Have fun for those that play.
