Any game which adds to content could be up for this, that's a pretty broad spectrum.

Another set of awards showing what I call "award creep"; Best Game, Best Game Design, Best Game Beyond Entertainment, Best Performer in Lead Role, Best Performer in Supporting Role. Well at least that's not as bad as Steam.

Path of Exile started out great as that "Diablo 3 We Never Got™", but the game quickly became boring and repetitive.

I remember when I was like 7-8 in 1999 and was playing Diablo 2 in the internet cafe with the other kids for the first time - I was scared shitless with the game. Even thought I made a Necromancer as I thought he looked cool, the dark feeling of the Blood Moor, all the realistic-looking monsters in there made me scared for my (my character's) life and I was both enthralled and terrified with the game.

For a while I even put the game off as it was too scary and it took me a few years before I reached Act 2 and Lut Gholein and I was amazed how beautiful that Act looked, even to this day it's my favorite act in the whole game and wish I would never have to leave it, just like in Vanilla WoW Westfall is my favorite zone and I wish I never have to leave it.

Path of Exile doesn't have that. Act 1 looks boring, dark, for the sake of looking dark (look mom, I made the game look like Diablo!), Act 2 looks boring and generic, I quit during the beginning of Act 3 twice so I don't know what the game looks after that, but I would wager it looks just as boring and generic.

The story isn't interesting either. All the leagues they do are like Battle Passes in shooter games and just serve to keep players addicted and grinding. SteamCharts shows a huge spike of players when a new league starts and then it dwindles down to tiny numbers, it's like the game is really boring and other people share my opinion too.

Path of Exile should not be judged on its first few zones. It is a wonderful game that I've sunk hours and hours into. Great to see that their creative leagues have won an award. It is indeed an evolving game. They keep creating mechanics and new interesting gear you can build around. Superb game.

And it deserves it. Very dedicated dev team. Right up there with DE and their Warframe.

PoE is shitty junk of a game. The biggest fans are cheapskates and broke teenagers who are just stoked to play a game they don’t have to pay for. I’ll play D3 and GD any day over PoE.

poe is junk because it's free? that's what i'm reading here. got anything else meaningful to add? poe, the free game, pumps out more content than D3 and GD, especially D3.

poe has released more content in 6 months than D3 has in years.

    this award is well deserved!

To play PoE you have to spend at the very least $40 to have enough stash space. The per user revenue of PoE is a magnitude higher than D3.

I had a quick glance at BAFTA a few days ago then gave my head a shake and never checked it out. These awards and gaming events have nothing of merit to offer, they are just money grabs full of sponsors.Literally any game that is willing to pay them some money will have a category made up for them.

Weather the game is better than Diablo is of course an argument, they are in the same league together but imo BOTH games are crap. Why crap, way too shallow,YOU are not in control of the game, your gem slots are and that is the same problem most mmorpgs have is YOU are removed from the game and replaced by gear.
Once you have the gear/gem slots whatever, you can pretty much get any noob to play the character.

If i had to give my opinion on the two market leaders knowing that i have played both?Diablo looks better if i can say that a APRG even looks good.Gameplay and depth, the rest is kind of even with a slight nod to POE.IMO POE looks pretty bad and that is not a good thing considering what little graphics are on screen and how tiny the assets are.Diablo does a better job with the atmospheric feel of the zones, some of them that is.Some are just empty open land masses or cheap tiled dungeons so yeah overall both games are sub par from a game design stand point.

I've dumped close to a grand on supporter packs for PoE thus far.

So my hair is a bird and your point is invalid.

You can get any noob to play successfully? Um no, most people can't make it out of the 80's lvl range on POE and 1% make it to lvl 100. The end game is brutal about the xp loss on death and how long it takes to get it back. You are very much in control of your character because bosses and even regular enemies have mechanics ignore them you die. It's also laughable that you say its shallow when most people that leave the game do so because of the complex way of building your character.
    I left around 86.
