Not bad for a KS indie game.

Me? Still playing it and enjoying it. My Summoner is level 60 now and I'm currently working on an archer.

Hrrm....and here I thought Wolcen was just the name of a recent expansion for some Blizzard game.

Oh, I see, an ARPG suffering from long term early access burn-out and a  random late name change to try and make people forget it was originally called Umbra.

No wonder it wasn't on my radar.

As commented by some on reddit, the math isn't adding up on this press release.

So, over one million units sold? So why not over 1.5 or even 2M characters created?  Also, if the below are accurate, it averages out to 12.84 kills per character. Even if those are just bosses as some suggested, still seems pretty low.

Finally, each character is averaging 17.4 hours played?

So back to unit sales, are people buying the game but not actually playing, at all?

Perhaps some zeros at the end are missing?

"Over one million characters have been created and 12.874.233 monsters were killed*. Furthermore, players spent 17.406.590 hours playing Wolcen and looted 115.347.589.950 gold (after removing a gold exploit)."

Why do Wolcels keep making posts trying to pump this game up? It's a decent game for an indie title but stop acting like its phenomenal.

Was top tier on Steam like most new games and already down to the tenth tier of games viewed.

it's called streamer/influencer bounce numbers. This is like saying a new casino game just came out and is making millions, should i care?

There is a gamer addiction going on right now, anything can sell and shouldn't.Then again i think the Diablo's and POE's are very shallow games,a complete waste of time.

I do get it,people like making builds, but i don't like gaming where the build is playing the game and not me.It is like a  guy  using a bot, sure he is guiding his character and pressing a couple buttons but not really playing, not the reason he is killing stuff.
I see this same addiction in mmorpg's as well, people do not want a rpg to immerse in,they want loot/build gaming,to me it is just too superficial to get into that stuff.

What is the ROLE in this role playing game,to be the gem socket master?

What, you find it difficult to believe that someone can enjoy the game you don't. I play offline and I play very slowly. I have 7 characters and I enjoy playing them much to your chagrin obviously since you WTF my post.

Just because you don't like the game doesn't mean that others who do are lying.

My summoner has become my main - level 65 now and just did a level 82 expedition.

I'm doing 3 Livor Mortis all set to be mages since that seems to be a good high damage version, and all 3 of them take some of my damage. In return I dropped some of my health and force field to give them more damage mitigation. None us die...ever :)

My 4th summon is whatever large melee thing I can grab with my Parasite skill.

Not sure how high I can take this build but so far so good with their damage and me wrecking things with both Plageburst and Anomaly and all the DOTs.

The melee and archer zombies still need some love - they just die too often and force you to waste a lot of time re-summoning them but the LMs are just fine and free me to do my own DPS.

A lot of builds I've seen just focus on the summons doing all the damage but I don't really like that play style. This one I'm slowly cobbling together fits my style much more.

Sounds like you've barely played the game that's why its still fun. Once you hit 30-40ish hours played and you've tried all the builds the scope of the game really shows. 8x ailments was probably the most fun I had but you can only do 187 expedition so many times before it loses its charm.

30-40 hours of game play translates to a decent investment, imo.

You mean if you speed your way to the highest tier of end game you get bored faster? Who would have thunk it?

Sigh, you tourists, 30-40 hours of game play is a rounding error to my way of thinking,  :)

I measure time in hundreds if not thousands of hours....  months or years is good too, particularly if spent playing one, and only one game during the time period.
