imageAnimal Crossing: New Horizons Review

Animal Crossing is a different kind of game. It isn't just that the world is generally run by anthropomorphic animals, or the fact that fossils, fruits and fish are big moneymakers in the economy. But is New Horizons a new adventure, or simply another rehash?

So I am really enjoying this game, the only thing I am not crazy about is the real time days, I would have liked the Sleep for a new day mechanic better, and yes I know I can cheat and put my system time ahead but doing things like that really doesn't help me enjoy the game any better.

    Good review...

Bought into the hype and picked this up three days ago. Had the wife list it on Facebook Marketplace today...

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is far more fun and provides a lot more to do.

He said no local multiplayer which probably means you have to use Nintendo Online for any type of multiplayer.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

There is indeed at least a 2 player (and I'm almost sure even 4 player) local couch co-op mode. Just played it with my kid. Player 1 is the leader who can do all normal things and others are followers who's options are a bit more limited.

    First off this isn't SPAM....

If you posted using normal font and wrote your message as part of your thread, you could post the same contents without spamming.

But when you post it like that it's spam and a lot of people will ignore it. You need to learn to post better if you want to get people to look at it.

It's not the same as the other animal crossing games is what the issue is. You have one island with only one real human resident. You can play with other users on the same console, but you share an island, and you don't get the full experience.  It's not a full, shared, local co-op experience for sure. Not sure why Nintendo did it that way.  Before you could have 4 players with 4 houses and they all could do all the same stuff you could.

Yeah this is what I interpreted the con to mean as well.

It kind of sucks how the islands work on the same Switch at the moment. I started my island and am progressing it as I get time to play, but my SO who is also playing cannot progress the island on her own as she is a permanent secondary resident on the island with no real power other than to affect what is already on it. They also do not give the option to have individual islands on individual accounts which means you have to either own separate switches for people in the household who want their own island or you are stuck with whoever started its progression.
