How? It looks bad. EQ1 had better animations and graphics back in 1999.

Sandbox games are basically "games about nothing". When someone wants to make a game, but doesn't have the inspiration on what content to put in, they just add some crafting system in an empty world and slap the "sandbox" label on top.

    That’s not how things work.

For me, Sandbox mmorpg's (or games, there aren't a lot of sandbox mmorpg's) have better game play than any other type of mmorpg. They engage the player and allow the player to actually do things.

As opposed to "reading quest, running to objective, do something quickly, run back or just click "ok" and then rinse and repeat."

Just because you don't appreciate that type of engagement doesn't mean they are about nothing. Not only are they about something, they are about what the player decides is important.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

If we're talking single player games, I would agree. But multiplayer survival games are typically just a type of FFA, full loot, PvP.

I may be mistaken but I thought you weren't a fan of full loot FFA PvP.

As someone who literally has thousands of hours in sandbox survival games like ark 7 days to die atlas conan exiles etc I agree with you 150%. The amount of effort that actually is put into these games is literally ZERO. Then they slap down pvp and call them games. They really are not even games they are just all building/pvp simulators with some added fluff content. Each game that releases is literally left in early access for years with very little development and terrible amounts of effort put in. Its funny because none of them have any story other than stupid notes around the gameworlds and are all carbon copies of the one previous to them.
