I didnt leave the game because there was/is no rep buff. I left the game because it is boring. BFA compltely killed it for me then this latest patch made it even more boring. I had to stop playing after many years. I jsut couldnt give them anymore.
I like the buffs, it made me come back for a laid back easy mmo to play after many years and just level classes doing dungeons only, which have fast que times and I can just relax and have fun, I don't really care about end game grind. If I had to guess this was their point to do a buff that cost them nothing and gets players to play. Extending it out was win win for them.
Edit: they also had BFA on sale last week and bought it and I really like it.
I thought Legion was very good, but I really could not bare to sick around BFA for long, maybe because of the azerite system and truly hate aliance capital city Boralus. Last sub I said to myself that it would probably be last time I play. And now, all this hype and information about shadowlands and blizzard luring in players with a couple of inticing boosts... damit!!!
It seems pretty clear that the reason why they're really extended it is because they are trying to increase their MAUs (monthly active users) so their next investor call they can brag about "seeing an increase in monthly active users" again while also incentivising players that left to return before Shadowlands releases which the company won't be doing this unless they're really struggling on retaining a high MAU. It wont surprise me if another "6 month" sub bundle coming as well

I think I'm going to reserve real judgment for shadowlands until beta since some alpha testers are currently giving a lot of solid feedback (even though this alpha is resembling the free marketing that bfa alpha was with a pretty much every content creator and their mom getting access). If a lot of stuff isn't adjusted or outright reworked by beta (Shadow priest....oh boy wtf was blizzard thinking with this...), its pretty much gonna be a lul that honestly targest wont be able to save. Don't even get me started on the Tower of the Damned. In theory it sounds alright but honestly one guy from Method hit the nail on the head that its just too much of the same within a day. Couple that with it being mandatory to a point and people will just wait for eventual 'catch-up' mechanics since this game is built on them. I'm sure it'll be active but honestly not in the way blizzard think it will (which will probably end up being something people sub 3-4 times out of the year just to mess around in).
Companies who are not gaining monthly users during this world wide quaratine are destined to lose. Mass firings when the quaratines lift becuase of this. Never before in our history have this many people been at home using the internet all day and night like this. Companies should have offered FAR more incentive to get people to subscribe or play their games. Quaratinining is coming to an end within a month or so.
This is what i love about meeting the right people to play with, when you're all in sync it makes for some exciting active mmorpg times. We've practically dropped classic atm and are going full steam alts in wow.
It all started about a week ago'ish? as a "for fun" lets power level a toon to 120 before the 100% runs out, i picked a rogue and within a half a week we capped at 120, 100% dungeons ofc.
Then with the extension we're back and going to do this until it's not fun anymore. The rogue is a lot of fun, and forever i've always refused to play a hunter, i rolled a hunter, ummm op af, but fun factor is unmeasurable.
The end game in wow is so dense that getting to 120 is merely a warm up and with this boost it is the perfect way to know if you click with a class or not, and then not fret about dropping it and try another.
My main is a warlock (affliction is my specialty) and am very verse in Demonology and Destruction, but affliction, boy can i ever make that sing to top most dps charts.
I loved the rogue it was a heck of a lot of fun but my warlock is still the winner for me... so far, got a disc priest, a mage, a rogue, working on hunter and who knows what will be next? This time i am using heirlooms and doing much more questing this round.

or, they extended it just because people love the 100% boost. We've (the peeps i play with) dropped classic and are playing retail, i'm not a fan of fast leveling, but when the leveling process in retail is already laughable joke why not make it fun at least?
I say it's a joke as there is no rhyme or reason, you out level stuff too fast without the 100%, so why suffer through that. I was 100% waiting to roll alts when Shadowlands arrives so i could level them through a contiguous, sensible leveling experience.
This 100% xp boost is a hoot.
It really lets you get to know your class and if you don't like it you can easily drop it and not feel as if you just wasted a large amount of time.
I imagine this was to be one of Shadowlands highlights in many ways (the super fast leveling) but... "due to popular demand" it's looking like they'll never be able to go back, i'm wondering if the 70% faster for SL will remain and won't go to 100%. You get a mount at level 1 now, unless you're a brand new player you won't be able to afford one, or even get to one until out of the starter zone.
All i need to do is make sure i have 4 classes i've never played for when SL arrives. I skipped Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, Warlords of Draenor, and Legion (kinda) i played through it on my warlock so, really just didn't play in prime.

Went back last week to level some toons and it's insanely fast. You get 1 level (110-120) every hour or so if you rush through questing. There are probably even faster ways than just questing.

I'll be doing the same.
