I was born to craft

My favorite game of all time was pre-cu SWG. The reason I enjoyed it so much was I was a surveyor/master architect. I enjoy collecting my own materials and making things people will use.

I don't enjoy fighting things. I would rather sit somewhere peaceful build my things and chat. Is this game for me? If there is a site with more on the crafting experience please provide links. Thanks.

I haven't played Horizons in about a year.

It is a crafters heaven though. In the crafting areas there is even very mello, "crafty" music. EQII stole alot from Horizons in this respect but they messed it up like always.

You can actually never ever fight a monster if that is the route you want to take. The variety of craft classes is huge.

Some of the visuals ingame are very good. There are some very unique looking sights.  The Aegis areas are really cool. (you just have to see them to understand, and turn up your volume) Overall the graphics are aged and average now a days but not bad. Some of the races are very well done also like the Dryads and the Dragons. Some are rather bland like elves and humans.

Now the downside is this, the game was still a bit laggy and rough last year, it has lots of minor technical issues but not as bad as SWG. (lol if you can imagine that)

I don't know what the population is like. Subs are reported around the 10k - 12k mark by mmochart.com last year and Tugla is reporting an increase in subs at this E3.

Tugla has also announce they are working not only on this new expansion but a new game as well. There has been alot of work done to the game this year.. (I have watched the patch notes) All in all, it looks like things are looking up for Horizons.

Its a smaller title game with a very dedicated hard core following. You will not find the trolls like in SWG. These guys love their game. If they beefed up the adventurer side of the house I might be tempted to give it another try. I'm a sword swinger and most other games do that better then Horizons.

I would like to see a more dynamic aegis (the bad guys) A better adventurer quest system. Some improved art, the armor is just ugly. A PvP arena in Tazoon or something. Something to drive the adventurer on a bit more then just leveling for the hell of it. It does get a bit grindy.

I believe they have a trial, you can never go wrong with that.

Also, you may want to ask your questions on the offical board, this one is more or less dead and infested with trolls.

It's possible to get along without levelling adventurer up until you hit T5 crafting - levels 80-100. All those resource fields are pretty well defended. At that point, you may need to either be very careful or have a bodyguard. If you have a good guild, getting someone to watch your back should not be a problem.

If you want to do nothing but craft things for people and build houses, you'll be able to do that quite well in Horizons. Become a tinkerer and stay visible - you'll never lack for work or appreciative customers.
