Ffs, now I want to try UO, its the one I never played.
Also, EQ2 has great housing, it is indeed instanced but very much worth it.
/Cheers, Lahnmir
Try Trove, while it is Voxel, (which all things said and done, are not any worse then those UO graphics)
Trove provides all kinds of things to build a home, you can even buy a whole home world instance. They have hundreds of recipes for decorations and things you can put around for cosmetics and what have you.
So if you are looking to build a "Home", I would say Trove is an amazing playground to play with that.
Trove is great, I am actually starting Boundless which seems to be similar.
But I have always been intrigued by UO, not just for the building part. Guess I am just looking for an excuse to take the plunge...
/Cheers, Lahnmir
I wish you good fortune with that, if nothing else, and regardless if you like it or not, it will at least expand your MMO experience.

UO has "realistic" graphics, and I like it much better than something like Trove. I know that's just opinion, though. They also have a 3D version, you can play either in the same game, but I don't care for it.
I created a sub-basement in my Solitude house (using the construction set) and can put things there. I usually save things of note, interesting weapons or "one of each" weapon type, etc.
In my Morrowind play through I've claimed a corner of the fighters' guild barracks in Balmora and have been throwing things there as I've yet to have a house made (I believe I can do that through several faction quests if memory serves.)

Not gonna dis your game of choice, because I am better than that. I also never played UO, so, I can't say how good or bad it is as far as a player goes.
But those graphics, just don't work for me.

Housing was cool in EQ2. I made one of my homes in New Halas (Frostfang Sea) into a Brewery.
But I especially enjoyed collecting Dragon heads to display in my guild hall. I was able to get 3 or 4 by myself. Well, with an NPC mercenary. Darathar, Vox, Wuoshi, and I think Venekor. Three other people helped me get Aiden.

This is what I put there. I placed carpets and put stuff from Desert of Flames expansion areas.
See you can see the back area and it actually overlooks the street.

EQ2 really had fantastic things you can collect , make with crafting or get from completing quests. There were also vendors that you could purchase from by earning points or some currency but it was group quests and quite hard but the furniture items were very nice. The game was really amazing in this respect.
No doubt about it, EQ2's housing looks really well done. Can you build your house walls and floors any way you want?
IIRC, you can place different materials over existing walls, floors, and ceilings.

I'm imagining the OP diving into his treasure like Scrooge McDuck dives into the cash in his bank vault.
Will this do?

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR

That's more than I'd need. I've never been a king nor needed a ransom demand paid. lol
We need an MMORPG where it's possible to become a king, get captured, and have enemies demand that a ransom be paid.

Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
But those graphics, just don't work for me.
Lore and Legend quests, I think it was the wall of weapons collection which you collect.
Paintings all over the house
Statues
Music boxes and some antiques
Paintings and furniture
Lamps and decorations
Vases and more paintings

Yeah. But combat isn't that fun in FFXIV. IMO.
