I agree with this too.  A world is important.  Also the actual player races of eberron would be nice.

Well they can add Drow without PvP. The races in Eberron aren't your normal versions of them. You'd be surprised how the different races get along with each other. It isn't so much a racial issue people have, that's there yes, but there seemed to be a big focus on nation differnces due to the Last War that I've noticed.

For example, thought might not be the best, you have an Orc, Human, Elf, and Gnome from Cyre. They are loyal to that country and willing to protect. As a result they'd all be more likely to be more open to their fellow countrymen and the countrymen towards them then towards someone that was from Breland. This is due to all the nations having been at war with each other.

Drow aren't from the main landmass the other elves come from. I think there is a chance that the light elves have forgotten about the Drow and the Drow might not have much interest in elves outside of Xendrik. Just because they are Drow doesn't mean they will or should automaticly be enemes of other elves. That might be a Forgotten Realms or other fantasy situation but not really so here. Eberron is a world where one of the major cities has a population mainly of Humans, Orcs, and Half-orcs. Has a nation where undead is a main army force and it's people dont' seem to have problems with it and one of it's rulers is a member of the undead I believe. It isn't your standard fantasy setting even though some parts of it are standard, doesn't mean all of it is.

I still feel having Eberron set in Stormreach was a bad idea. They could have easily set on the main continent and given players a way to explore the land. In an area where several of the nations come together. Someplace, the area is big enough.

This is just a real bad move imho. There are much more exciting races in the Eberron settings or the core races then Drow, I know this was already mentioned before but still this is just very foolish of them to implement Drow. Drow was never intedned to be a PC in Eberron. This is just bad real bad...

    Erm
No offense but please wake up and smell the coffee:
    This is a MARKETTING move.
The single most popular AD&D novel series EVER was about Drow :)
The single most popular AD&D Fiction hero is Drizzt Do'Urden

They aren't adding drow to fit the canon.  They're adding drow because Drow are marketable.  Just like LEC and SOE added Jedi to SWG even though the timeline for SWG dictated that no Jedi could exist... at least not openly and even then... very very few.

It's all about market strategy.  Drow = Dollars

That said:  It *will* alienate hard-core D&D fans.... then again they did that already ;)

Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online.
    Sig image Pending
    Still in: A couple Betas

I am very weel aware of that. I still think it is a bad move and they should focus on developing a real mmo feel to the game rather then recolor the elf character.
