What I dont like about Eve Online

chmodchmod Member Posts: 6

I have been playing the game for about 6 months now.  All I can see there is to do in the game is TRAIN and do MISSIONS.  I tried to join a good corp, but no one recruites on Eve.  I love to PVP, but it seems if you dont have the skills, you get pod'ed if you go into 0.0 or even get close.  Am I missing something?

Check the corporations forum on the EVE site for corp recruitment, or the in-game channel. Or join the eve combat training classes run by eve university, they go out regularily to get some pvp done. Don't just blindly try and alpply to a random corp...find one that fits your tastes and contact them.

You know, I have an ass load of skill points... and I still get podded headed out to 0.0.... hell... If the day just isn't going my way... I'll get podded in 0.4.  Warp bubbles are usually the only thing that can keep me from warping out though...

Corps are wierd... they make or break Eve.  Just keep looking.  Though... there is that phrase that somebody doesn't like...

    Eve just isn't for everybody.

    Good luck.

We can agree to disagree, or we can bicker constantly... either way, I'm right.

Try the channel in-game "Eve University".  I don't know them well, but it may be worth a try for you.

Also, there are PLENTY of corps recruiting ... look at the recruitment board on the official forums.

Try the ingame recruitment channel, it's full of people recruiting for corps.

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"

Train, for sure. Spend some time exploring though. Ignore all combat, get a frigate with an MWD and just set crazy waypoints. I've been to many places in Eve. I make hardly no ISK and because my chatacter is borked and it shows none of the systems I have been to, only I know I have been there but it's still pretty cool to say I was. The best suggestion would be to not fall into a steriotype of what you 'should' do and how you should move forward in the game. Make your own agenda.

Or just put a post up on the eve recruitment forums, stating what you enjoy doing/want to do, what you are capable of doing, your timezone etc.

Pretty quickly a few corps will come along and sniff you out. Join one of them - you can always leave if you don't like it.

Make some friends who like the same things you do in eve, and before you know it you'll be happy!

Yes, you are missing a lot.

Ratting can be done in any system and you do not need agents or others to do it.  You can solo it most of the times and good isk is to be made off of some of the looted modules.  You can reprocess the junk and sell the materials if you so wish.

PvP is not isolated in 0.0 systems.  If you like PvP and don't know how to do it then let me help:

Enter a .4 system.  Fly to various .4 systems until you find others in local.  Check each asteroid belt for someone minning.  Lock their ship, jam them (not strawberry) and open a convo to demand an equal price of their ship mere seconds before blowing them away!!  Yarr!!

    Corps?  They are ALWAYS recruiting!!!

Sorry, EVE is not a game that lays it all out in your lap.  Well, it actually throws it all onto your lap for you to figure out.  If you don't understand how to get into a corp you should be posting on the EVE Online forums under "Corp Recruitment"

So you have tried and given up on the 2 most cruicial aspects of Eve, and just mission whore, and you wonder what you are missing? Lol.

Every corp pretty much recruits. Go to the official forums and go to the recruitment forum. Look for corps with lots of reccomendations in their thread from unaffiliated corps. Apply.

PvP wise, at low SP you can be very effective in a frigate, but you MUST join a corp and PvP in a group. Solo PvP is possible but you need to plan it very carefully (you need ewar, tackling, nos etc. You can set up a Dominix for solo PvP pretty easily)
