    Really? Thats not helpful in anyway. Got anything to say about the content of the update? Looks like they still have a ways to go. Little things like pressing blink and being out of range by a few feet, they character should run forward automatically and then blink. Current state I would not use that skill. This is one of the indy projects I hope makes it.

    I don't think the comments section here is the place for helpful advice. This game is fundamentally flawed in every way. The lore is terrible. The developers have been unable to reveal a single compelling NPC character in any of these videos. A swordsman named Slash is something Drax the Destroyer would come up with, or my four year old as stated earlier. The game is dated and clunky in a MMO market that is already experiencing a declining user base. The most damning thing though is that City of Heroes is more polished, better looking, and available now.

    Have you seen comic book / super hero names before? They are usually just a descriptor of what the hero / villain is or does. Iron Man, Ant Man, Super Man, The Flash, The Punisher, Spider Man. The creativity is very weak in comic book names (although some are more creative than others)

    Everyone of those names is more creative and more nuanced than a simple description of what they do(perhaps with the exception of The Punisher lol). This project is just an example of what happens when you REALLY want to make an MMO, but don't have the patience or skillset to build an engaging world. Cryptic had writers, artists, and storyboards that fleshed out a super hero/villain universe long before the first line of code was written. This team on the other hand is fleshing out their universe and characters as they code, model, and animate. They began with a poor concept(in my opinion), and never criticized and refined it.

    I don't see why everyone is hating so hard on this game, it's obvious what it is trying to be and if they continue to improve it I don't see why it couldn't become a spiritual successor to CoH. Isn't the future of all current CoH servers up in the air, anyways? What other game are we going to get to fill the void left behind by CoH absence? Does anyone remember when the game shut down and we had nothing?

    It's a niche game for certain people, and they know who they are.

    Having said that, the devs are really going to have to understand that any successes they might hope to find outside that box is gonna really depend upon how smoothly they sand down the rough edges in... well just about everything they are currently presenting here.

    I wish them the best of luck, tbh. Why wouldn't you, it's an obvious labor of love.

    I think the combat speed is just right. Any faster and you would not be able to really see the arm movements and slower would be EQ2 which I feel is just a tad bit slow but still fun nonetheless..

    A different point about the game though and I have to bring it up because it relates to this random mob killing "Slash" was doing and that is the LOOT. This game really should consider having a arpg loot drop type of system where just by killing a random mob I have a small % chance of getting the "Super Awesome Legendary Cloak of ___". Think DCUO best loot but instead of being locked behind stuff you must do or cash shop capsules it all drops randomly. Have content not be for the goal of getting the best loot but cause you actually want to experience it.

    Looks terrible, in every aspect, style, animation, effects, everything. I genuinely wish them well but now that the City of Heroes source code is in the wild and there are fan servers everywhere it doesnt even fill a niche, just looks worse than a game which launched over 16 years ago and was closed down 8 years ago....

    Speed of combat isn't as important as combat complexity. What tools do i have to overcome obstacles and how rewarding they feel to use are more important to me.

    But then again it depends what kind of game you're making. If you're making a solo game for Twitch viewers, then i guess this makes sense.

    I'll admit, the video is pretty underwhelming.  I don't understand why so many people shit on this game, though.  Have they done something that deserves it?  Are they making unreasonable promises or being dishonest or trying to screw backers out of money or something?

    I have concerns about the lore myself, just based on the supers names. They look like they spent about five seconds deciding on what makes for a good supers name. Not inspiring at all.

    It is possible since I judge it always with City of X in mind I find the pace of combat to be alright.
