Edit no longer exists? Anyways was also wondering if I should wait for a better SSD that would work for my motherboard if it's possible to make better ones that would work with my mobo.
I am using a Samsung 960 EVO as my boot drive. I have not had issues with it. It is not a 970 which is faster but heck, it is of the same family of drives.
Thanks. Know of anything moderately faster coming out anytime soon?
..unless you are using it for production, I doubt you would notice the difference...heck, I doubt you would notice the difference between nvme and sata.
The answer to the question you asked is that theoretically, it should work. The answer to another question that you should have asked but didn't is that that's way too much to pay for an SSD of that capacity that isn't even high end and is out of stock so you might take a long time to get it, anyway.
I probably should have went with a western digital to save some money but it's too late now and I've never had problems with samsung stuff. I ordered it on amazon btw since they actually had some.
I actually stll might be able to cancle but I'm not sure I want to risk any issues with that.
I decided to try and cancel to get a western digital pretty much the same speed but for $30 less, it said it might not get cancelled since it was about to ship. Will find out if it gets shipped or cancelled soon I think.
Just got an unable to cancel email... Oh well tough titties for me. Not paying more to return it. Not too worried about the $30. I paid about 3 cents more per GB.

I'd suggest getting this instead:
https://www.newegg.com/xpg-sx8200-pro-1tb/p/0D9-0017-000W4
It's not fastest available, but it's really fast and offers good price/performance.
EDIT: Now that SSD is out of stock too. SSDs have real availability issues nowadays
Transfer speeds are mostly paper stats.
