Funny out of the myriad of survival game clones this one still finds a way to nickle and dime its playerbase more than any other game. The only one that has released that doesnt allow you to host your own server you have to pay them to do it. But then again you can look at how ESO turned out to know how greedy this company is.

This would be great. If the game still wasn't such a horrible mess. Right now you can't even use the player vendors as they've disabled them, and trophy cases, due to issues with them that they are looking to fix.

The level scale is way off too. Whenever I create my own server, if I'm the only one on it, almost all of the enemies are level 5 - 30, and it doesn't matter if I'm on one of my level 180+ characters or my level 55.

I have the game on both console and PC (got it on a discount code site, super cheap) and the differences between the PC and Console are minimal in terms of crashes and bugs.

The PC does crash less, but the game still locks up sometimes and crashes to desktop at times. The Console versions seem to be way more populated too. There are always nukes on the console version, whereas, on the PC version, if I don't launch one, it usually doesn't happen during my play time. Also, even if I do launch one on the scorchbeast queen, on Console in the past several months, you will always get a kill, but on PC I rarely see enough players in my instance capable of killing her.

If they spent as much time fixing bugs as they do creating ways to make more money nickel and diming the players they still have, they might actually be able to get a decent following across the board. It probably wouldn't hurt to make it cross platform too as it seems the PC version is lagging in population in comparison to the PS4 version.

I am continuously disgusted by what they are doing with this game. So much so, that my ability to simply forget I ever purchased Fallout 76 ( At release no less, with a 60$ price tag ) and go on continue playing the older fallout series and even other beth games has began to take a hit.

At this point I am convinced that they're just seeing what it is possible to get away with, in a sick vault-tecesque experiment for future products.

I am not amused Beth. Not fucking amused at all. You've lost a fanboy, and you're teetering on the razors edge of permanently losing a customer.

I know I don't matter, but I am not gonna pay for your games just so I can.. what? Turn around and pay you more to actually be able to enjoy it?

If Starfield and TES6 come out of the gate with as much bullshit as 76 has had tacked onto it, you can be your ass I'll throw my money in the fucking garbage before I give it to you.

And I'm not holding my breath here, either. Your move.

Checkmate, you lost.  Their focus is now on customers they can make money from, clearly you aren't one of them.

    Life moves on.

To me F76 is kind of in a weird space.  It’s got a huge amount of lore/quests when compared to a survival game.  It has better questing than many supposed MMORPGs I’ve played.  Yet, it is still limited to small server populations.  Have a group of 5 playing currently.  All subbed as I can’t envision how to even play the game without the scrap cache and the ability to have your own server just to farm lead and ballistic fiber from certain places.

Pretty much we login.  Do a quick farm run on our own servers and then merge on one. Use our camps and tents to port around and finish dailies and them run events.   I started at level zero (did not play my old character) and am at 99 right now.  I have a ridiculous Bloodied build that let’s me melt almost anything in the game.  My one weakness is radiation.  We just started launching nukes and farming the Queen.

But I’ve got a full set of Unyielding armor and Bloodied Armor Piercing Automatic Assault Rifle with increased fire rate. So my hunt for loot is really over.   Sure I might find a specific armor piece slightly better but it would be a really small increase.  My character build has been set for the last 30+ levels so I’m not even spending points.  I have 24 unspent levels.

So I ask myself... how do I judge it?  As a survival game it’s way above the average, but even paying a sub I do not really get a server like I would for Conan or similar and so I can’t customize it at all. As an MMORPG I’d say it was a load of fun for the last month, but now I wonder if I’m reaching the end of the road.  I am Friendly with both Settlers and Raiders so I have some more grind to do there, but I fear I’m reaching the end.   Maybe we can peak at the vault raids for a few weeks.

I had a really enjoyable month but I can see the end on the horizon.

So I guess I’d have to say that I’m looking forward to the season stuff.  I envision popping back in each time they release and kicking it around for a few weeks.  Anything that adds content seems good to me.

Just more proof these studios are thinking about money more than the gaming experience. What they are doing here is SIMPLE,no effort,no cost, just a plan to make more money than the game deserves.

It is amazing that this is the trend everywhere in the market now, create pointless grinds/ranks to keep gamer's spending more money that a simple one time purchase that SHOULD be the norm.

Remember when i said a long time ago that login screens have become the simple interface to cash shops, well this trend is making itself a permanent home in gaming.A login screen USED to mean,WHOA a great online experience with other gamer's from around the world.Well we played pvp versus the world online for years in the past with NO additional costs,go figure now it is all about the additional costs and people pay it....sigh,new generation of dummies.
