imageThoughts on Fallout 76's 2020 Roadmap

Bethesda isn't the most communicative studio out there when it comes to Fallout 76, but the team did recently release its latest roadmap, giving players an overview of what's coming to the game this year.  Honestly? There's a good deal to be excited about.

After Wastelander dropped i jumped in and hell yeah they turned an already amazing game in to an Epic fun game to play. This road map sounds decent enough, i don't really feel this is an alt type game though?

Not over excited, but doesn't have anything to do with F76 at all, it's every game other than the mmorpg i'm into. Throwing this out as i wonder if other mmorpg players suffer from this as well. I get in these long spells where i can't justify any game time i'd spend on any game other than (insert mmorpg here).

It's progression i think, it's a mental thing where i think ok i could play this single player game and probably thoroughly enjoy it, or F76 and have an absolute blast, but look at that as time not progressing in (insert mmorpg here) and i kinda hate it at times becaseu as in this case i'd love to rock some F76, but i won't be progressing in (insert mmorpg here). uggggg lol

Finally companies adopt Path of Exile model, new seasons to refresh the game, free for all players to avoid splitting the comunity

    That's the way to go!
Make no mistake, Fallout 76 isn't free like POE, has an up front box price and several onerous designs to encourage FO 1st monthly subs.

Met a new victim... err made a new friend last night who joined up two days ago during the free trial.  Was already level 30,  said he was playing obsessively so he'll fit right in with our happy group of misfits.  (I hit level 260 last night...friends said, "big deal, what else is new?")

Anyways,  he had already purchased the game, signed up for FO1st, and was admiring all of our Atom shop camp and gear purchases.

Was a bit enlightening that most everything he commented on was Atom shop purchased, with very few observations on items achieved in regular game play.  (A pair of lion statues and brick walls in my camp)

So yeah, whether he knows it or not, he's already trapped, he even is learning to shrug off the crappy UI designs and glitches,  adopting our group's mantra.

    "Well, you know, Bethesda, right?"

    Cheers  :)

I jumped back in after Wastelanders and started from scratch.
Unfortunately, I'm only lvl 18 at the moment due to a busy work schedule, 4 kids to chase around the house and occasionally playing other games with friends.

But i have been thoroughly enjoying the game.
Yes, there's still quite a few bugs. (My favorite was killing a lvl 20 Deathclaw on Deathclaw Island while i was around lvl 8 or 9 because it was stuck and couldn't attack or even move)

But it has been fun doing quests or saying, "Screw it....I'm going to run to that marker on the map to discover more places"

Damn I just wished developers/publishers don't use climate seasons as time stamps as often. Many of us don't live in the same region. In any case, this roadmap looks promising.

I’m glad they confirmed all seasons will be free and everyone will have access to the same board/progression. I would have thought they would have been paid content or at least a separate free and premium progression path. Pleasantly suprised.
The longer one plays the more wearying the battle against their own inventory becomes, which will encourage them to subscribe....and then the trap fully closes.

Combined with the monthly "free"atoms which purchase arguably the best looking outfits and gear along with private worlds and the tent...a true boone, especially to store stuff whenever one wishes....

They know exactly what they are doing...

I never expected to return to Fallout 76 after its egregiously terrible launch.

Why? The game got a good 7/10 from MMORPG.com
