Nothing like adding a Diablo system to a mmorpg, which causes people to only be as 'good' as rng allows them to be regardless of how they play. I'm curious how that meeting went when you say the realities of the system out loud.
Come on already Shadowlands, and let's forget about this BfA mess of an expansion.
..that, if Shadowlands doesn't follow the same path!

Initially i was enjoying corruption immensely, landing the right pieces made me broken af out dps'ing players i could not even get close too on the meter before.
Dealing with high level of corruption was a boon to me as well, added an entirely new level of challenge to the game for me. I F'ING LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!
Then my cloak got better and better. On alts i started cleaning any corrupt gear. The whole uldum/vale/vision grinding, i burned out fast on it.
Deep down i find beyond a certain item level it's just pure rng "pray" grinding, and guess what? day one "any next expansion" it all goes down the drain anyway, turning all that into a massive waste of a players time. It's why classic and SWG rock!
I'm not saying i'm not having some retail fun it's only limited before you end up purely wasting your time trying to become a smidgen more broken then you already are, and knowing all that goes poof day one expansion, yeah NO Thanks!

cool writeup. I've been thinking of writing something similar. The idea of the Essences and corruption is very cool, it's just severely unbalanced and removes classes entirely from the game
IMHO they should have just made corruption for pve and balanced it for raids only and leave it out of pvp. Plus they punish those who only pvp, I am not one of them I also like to pve/raid. However, I don't ignore that it provides an advantage over those who don't. What they should have done is stuck with resilience like they implemented several expansion ago. This forces the use of pvp gear and keeps pve gear out of the question. That's my opinion on the matter.
P.S. Best thing to do is if you get about 12k or 13 echoes buy the corruption you can and store it in your bank so that way you have it and don't have to wait for it to come around again.
I would give you a guest pass to SWOTR, but then I wouldn't be able to find a way to live with myself afterwards....
Wow so they finally add an ARPG element in and still millenials cry and whine. They should take away the wow tokens and let you fend for yourselves.
But this was the intention.
