Amidst launch woes for the PC NA version of Phantasy Star Online 2, the fan-made launcher PSO2 Tweaker has been updated to include both Japanese and North American versions of PSO2.

    Well someone test all these 'fixes' for a week and let me know if the game randomly deletes itself during that time, since that's the main reason why I'm not playing. I don't feel like redownloading the entire game/parts of the game just because it has a temper-tantrum when I decide to stop playing for a bit. More than likely this is because of the microsoft store integration since I haven't found any info about the JP version doing this, unless someone else knows. Should be easy to find info about a problem like that on an 8 year old game if there was such a problem before this.

    Was getting stuck in an infinity loading tunel after character creation at best. After a few reinstalls what worked: download the 11GB file from the microsoft store then never touch it again and just use the PSO2 Tweaker and follow the guide on their website.

    Who cares, the game is hot garbage. Its not even fun, resist your FOMO, the game sucks, don't waste your time.

    Say what you will, but I'm having a blast in PSO2. I never played any PSO before. 1, or 2!

    Some people find current wow amazing while I find it to be hot garbage. Opinions are interesting things.

    They found a way to bypass the windows store after the first 11GB download in the Microsoft store. No more Nuking!

    Good news to hear, I'll probably still wait a few days just see if this works out or not because my game was working perfectly fine via the Microsoft store etc but it still decided to delete itself randomly a few days later.

    Its a fun game but I dont wanna invest too much in the NA version. Hoping there will be an EU version soon?

    So, an 8 year old port has issues... That is pretty depressing that they can't get an old game to even launch correctly. Though, I tried it out the other day and I didn't have any issues with that horrific launcher. That thing makes Epic look good. It loaded and ran just fine on my end.
    I won't be playing it again though as that game is just too outdated for me. The combat is just way too generic. The story is not bad I give them that. I just got bored after like 8 hours of playing it. I played it when it first came out years ago and back then I was just as bored as I was now. I get the feeling that the people behind it wanted to make it like Final Fantasy Online but it comes up short.

    Took me 3 days from launch to get the game running and yet it was worth the trouble because it's so much fun (also alarmingly addictive!). The combat just feels so damn good <3

    PSO2Tweaker is the best! Enjoying the game for 3 days with the new launcher, no nukes yet.
    Game is really awesome and without performance issues that directx9 brings. I was astonished in a full hub i could get over 100fps. And in other directx9 mmorpg like 20fps in hubs/big battles.( i got a shitty amd fx series cpu)
    Also enhancing your gear is quite easy in this game so far( I was tired of games where you need to farm months/years like Archeage/bdo). Hope this game doesn't flop, because its better than other f2p titles in some aspects.

    Except - it does not.

    Still unless you install 12GB microsoft store PSO2 launcher. The game will revert to broken (everytime) after rebooting the PC.

    And since I do not have 12GB space on C drive ( that I only keep system files on ) - the game is still broken.

    So, nothing was actually fixed by that third party launcher.

    Haven't had any issues playing for last couple of days, but yesterday it seems to have deleted itself.
    But i can't even redownload the game again, just gets stuck at downloading...

    And it seems weird that the game needs to be installed on C, i downloaded it on a different drive and had no issues.
    I did, but a simple powershell command i found on reddit fixed it

    If you install the game on other drive. It will break every time you reset the PC.

    Possibly there is a fix. Like powershell command. But I dont see why I should mess with my system just to play the game.

    Actually, since the last update, you can download the full game with the tweaker, you don't even need the original 11 gb from the store (but I had to go into their discord, as you need to download an extra file not included in the tweaker for this).

    My game files are still here, no data losing after windows restarts.

    For me, it works.

    Love it!!! Leave it to the fans, i remember how Blown away i was when i first started playing morrowind until i hit the first town Balmora and Whoops! unplayable. Their effort to stop pirating made the game unplayable.

    SO... If you paid for the game you can't play it, but everyone pirating the F out of it had a great time as it was 100% playable for them???? So i bought the game but i have to crack it to play it. lmfao

    By default, Microsoft installs games to C:. You can change it to install games/apps to a different drive in Windows settings. Or for something already installed tell it to move an app to another drive.

    i enjoyed what i got to play of it, which was the prologue level. i will refrain from using the tweaker and will wait until an official fix is released. i dont imagine future patches will play nicely with fan made tweaking programs.
