It sounds like the REAL focus is on the NEW ships they want to sell,so nothing changes ,still a money grab.
The first part isn't even an event, that is lame to pretend to cal lit one.

The second part "lightning strikes" might be ,idk, tough to figure it out behind this veil of ship advertising.

Really this is very close to what Rockstar has been doing with their deceptive articles, just cash shop adverts all over the internet.

I wonder when the focus will be back on gaming and we no longer have to hear about cash shop sales?

WTF? You cannot buy these ships for real money in a cash shop. They have to be gained through gameplay.

Don't you buy with ISK,and don't they sell ISK/Plex?ISk has been a massive problem within the game going back to when i played it MANy years ago.I was in the noob chat "forget what it is called"and chat was literally spammed with ISk sellers and the GM/mods in the channel didn't care one bit.

Plus the whole PLEX thing is automatically tied in when any new ship arrives because peopel want to customize them RIGHT AWAY.

That's why i said it is like Rockstar's lame advertising. They tal kabout this new car you can get knwoing people will be buying GTA $$ to get it.

I generalize the term cash sho pwith ALL online real money trading. If items are tied into the real world somehow "where they do NOT belong"it is cash shop material.

They sell PLEX. PLEX cannot buy these ships. You can trade other players for ISK with PLEX, but again those ISK you gain has been earned ingame by someone else, and you buy the ship with those ISK, and again someone has worked ingame for that ship.

What you buy is ingame play time.

Same as with a game subscription, really.

The relation goes both ways: Time is Money & Money is Time.

Games that honor that two way relation, like EVE, I have no issue with.

Now, if the ship could be bought directly off developer that is a completely different thing. Then the Time <> Money relation has no balance and that will negatively influence the "value" of game time, and thus the "value" of actually playing the game.
