in Fallen Earth
I've decided to not renew my WoW account when it runs up after playing since launch because i just dont care anymore, could go on about my reasons but this isn't the place.
Ever since i found out this game was on the horizon i knew i would be playing it,
So i'm wondering if i should pick up another game to play before Fallen Earth comes out to keep me busy because its not coming out for a year or 2, or just wait it out, i know they want to make sure it's as good as possible when launched but it would be nice if they could at least give a year its due out,
i mean they must know that much.
Has anyone read any interviews where they give a ballpark estimate?
or just the vague "we want to make sure it's ready when launched"

Hate to break it to you but you are as much in the dark as the rest of us on the release date. Icarus has said "when it's ready" and " Not giving out any dates" for over 2 years now. I don't expect them to change what they say now, especially since the last two bits of news said exactly the same thing. The only thing they have hinted at is when beta will start , and that wasn't a date , that was just when certain conditions with the game were met and ready.
As to my personal guess ,, FE won't be released this year. Maybe late qtr 1 2007 or sometime in qtr 2 2007 would be where I put my money on release happening.
Watkins has said that 2006 will be a big year for FE though..

You know it doesn't matter how many times these topics keep comming up, everytime I read them I feel like Im learning it all for the first time again. DAMN YOU ICARUS!!!!!!
Though for the topic at hand I have been playing alot of shooters (every game in the battlefield series) and other rpg's but have yet to settle down on an mmo that remotely gets my attention like FE.

So hard to say. I mean if you'd asked me this over a year ago when I first saw previews and interviews... well the previews described the product as mostly finished back then.
From various things the developers have said, they have a mostly finished game engine and are coding content now. But they're being very tight-lipped, which I think is understandable. Look at games like D&L which generated massive hype, set deadlines, failed to meet deadlines, set more deadlines, failed to meet those again, etc. etc. etc. It hasn't been good for them.
I would hope to see FE launched this year. The speed of development seems to have picked up again after a bit of a lull. We'll probably see them announce a beta and start publicising the game very shortly before it goes live.
Only concrete indication you could be given are the official newsletters. With six major factions, the devs are currently releasing monthly newsletters covering a faction each month. We've seen two. It's reasonable to suggest then that the game is at least four months from launch.
Beyond that, we're all guessing.
I'm another WoW emigrant and I've kept one eye on this game for a while too. But I'd say pick up some other game to keep yourself amused pre-FE.
guess i will have to give some other MMO's a go for now,
or maybe just get back to some good ole fashioned single player, heh
Hoping they go into open Beta as soon as they can though, even if it stays that way for many months, it's another way they could ensure when it's released it's as good as possible.
Good guys, bad guys ... whatever, only Brotherhood of Steel will survive though
