Nobody should ever be banned for clicking reaction buttons.
Clicking reaction buttons is one thing, acting like a total dick is another. I think his behavior is annoying for quite a few people visiting this site. Afaic, this site would be better w/o him.
I don't think the site is better when people leave. Even my personal stalker. We have an ignore option. You can control your input which is much better than trying to control someone else's output.
This in a nutshell. Basically run the risk of creating an echo chamber of a different sort if people got banned just for "being a dick."

At least @Gdemami reads the posts because occasionally and mind you very rarely I've gotten agrees and one awesome from him. That is better than some of the posters here who do not even read the posts let alone understand what is written. This is far more annoying.
When he does write he does make some points that are interesting. I might not agree with them but it is better than the insulting drivel or outright lies others have posted.

Regarding COE, it's hard to sustain outrage when your complaint isn't being addressed. Just frustrating.
It depends on the person. Some are easily dissuaded. As soon as I started to read that their plan was to spend weeks soliciting input from people before responding to Walsh I knew they were dead in the water.

It disgusts me that some f'nut posts a video of a kid berating some elderly volunteer on a school bus and vo f'ing voila SET FOR F'ING LIFE level of cash rolls in? Really? some kid was mean = lottery size donations? yet starving people get f'all?
The scam 3 peeps ran about a bum gave them gas money, again lottery sized donation comes flowing in, as like money is water and someone busted the dam
And then you have some semi human low life that says he'll make a dream mmorpg and 8 million later locks the door. Well... he said he would.
Overall it makes me furious that people can be this deceitful, but turns out they are lucky that there are laws that protect low life's like this but no laws to protect peoples good intentions and or generosity?

Most have gone to their banks. Those who paid through PayPal are bing told tough we paid PayPal go to them.
PayPal are saying we paid Xsolla and they say you received it. Or Here is a refund (lol). (Two totally different responses sometimes to the same person).
Most are just plain screwed. I've lost some, if I win with my CC I will buy something I don't really need because it's cash that was lying around. If I don't I out it down to experience.

For your bank, I think the biggest thing is how much time has gone by since you made the purchase. If it's been more than a year, I don't think there is much that they can do.
In Jan 2018, right after they missed their KS projected launch date of Dec 2017, I reached out to SBS about a refund. Unsurprisingly for this company, they refused. I then tried to do a chargeback through my bank (BoA). However, since the KS funds were paid in June 2016 (~1.5 years earlier), there was nothing the bank could do.
Fortunately, I was able to resell my $360 pledge package for nearly the same price I had originally paid.
