It really is a shame what happened to this series and unfortunately RDR will suffer the same fate thanks to online.

Fck them... console fans of GTA V blah blah

It was clear from the Take2 finance reports that no GTA VI in this year, and most likely 2021 neither. This is just a confirmation of that.

    Actual translation of that announcement:
Console and PC fans of GTA can rest assured they can kiss goodbye to the hopes of new adventures, for at least two more years (maybe even more, who knows how long Rockstar can milk the Online dry).

"...for PS4 owners by giving away $1M in GTA Online Cash each month until it hits the PS5 in 2021"
This is where Rockstar's core focus is right now, and it's a bad news to all who prefer the story mode GTA.

"That's a lot of cash to fund your enterprises"

Sadly, in this game is not that much.

It ain't a secret they only care about Online - heck, standalone got nothing in the last 5 years, except the doubled client size... (in the beginning at least the new Online vehicles and guns were added into storymode too, but Rockstar stopped to do that after a while)

Still, I only glanced through the news here, hence added that line based on just the Online cash giveaway.

However, it's much worse actually, if you check the full announcement:
"There will also be a new standalone version of GTA Online coming in the second half of 2021, which will be available for free exclusively for PlayStation 5 players during the first three months."

Standalone... not just ignoring storymode since years, and no new GTA in the upcoming years, they will also scratch the story part off from the Online...

I was genuinely worried about the PS5 reveal event when they opened with this wet fart of an announcement. Fortunately, some of the other revealed games were actually impressive.
