Really hoping that this takes off and that Paradox and White Wolf Studios go back to the idea of a World of Darkness MMORPG
It would be nice but I think one of the issues was that what they were making wasn't "fun." So they scrapped it. I think they spent a lot of money, and certainly time, to find out that they had what they thought was a dud.
Perhaps they should make a single player game and then build off from that.

I'm looking forward to this. One of my favorite parts of any video game was the haunted house sequence in the first game. They didn't use some over the top horror monster to scare you, but they used a slow ramp up environmental horror.
It was so scary that after my first play through I didn't bother playing it again as a different type of vampire because I dreaded that sequence so much.
Is one of the 5 clans you can join all about killing other vampires by any chance?
Only 5? 7 in the lore.
Brujah would be the closest as they rebel against 'normal' vampire society in various ways. They aren't anti vampire, but more anti establishment vampire.

If you are or were truly serious about this game, did you actually watch the original live event reveal party about 2 years ago? This is one of the episodes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TCImgDY5RU I was there,i watched the first live. There lies a problem right there,i am not even sure it was a full 2 years ago, time flies maybe it was,but does anyone honestly think a quality game was made in LESS than 2 years?
Looking at the date on this video it is less than 2 years ago and that is more to do with advertising TENDER than actually developing the game.
If i had to use an educated guess, the game has about 18 months tops/max of development put into it.
During that live reveal even it was actually more do with some gimmick they had for creating money from a new social media integration idea.
I got way more an indication they were looking for money angles than they were about making a game.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
I was very amused by the haunted house in the first game. Here I am, a powerful, deadly vampire, and yet they're trying to scare me. That was really funny.
Not sure if I want to play the second game. The first one was kind of a masterpiece. I have a hard time believing the second one will compare.
And I certainly dont look forward to playing a thinblood. Or only get 25 hours of gameplay.

Wasnt them. WoDO was being developed by CCP (yep, EvE online) and was scrapped cause well... CCP went under (now bought by Pearl Abyss - BDO)
True that, but I don't think Paradox and White Wolf will dive into mmorpg territory. Seeing what CCP went through, the money and expense and seeing other mmorpg's stagger along unless you are one of the top dogs, and there really isn't incentive.
They are better off with single player games.

Not sure how an MMO would do justice to a setting that's all about intrigue and politics... while the average MMO player spams "lul lul, wut bruh?" all day and only cares about getting the best loot as fast as possible.
Not to mention killing a gazillion things all day... =/
As much as I'd love a WoD MMORPG, I feel like it'd be something watered down and shallow to appeal to the masses compared to the single player games.
Something akin to the Secret World maybe. But with better character models (hopefully!) might work.
My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

Thats the thing tho, the WoD community is really not like that.
They could make a sandbox social MMO just like CCP was doing and profit from whales buyinh gothic cosmetic dresses for their characters. I'm not kidding.
They could make it more like the original guild wars where there are large hubs for players but then players "head out into the world" with the party and experience a more storied game for themselves.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
You can make a classic fantasy MMORPG have vampires just fine, and it will also have a TON of other possibilities.
