You All Please Help Me, Please

OK, where do I start. I myself love playing MMO's. My most favorite I have to admit is Anarchy Online. I have had some great times over there in Rubi-Ka. About 6 months ago though due to forces that I could not control (mainly a hell of a hurricane) I could not play any longer. My account expired and I have not been doing anything but working. Now, recently I have been starting to get the MMO itch. I miss it dearly. I feel like a relative rookie to all of this though and do not know what everyone is playing. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. I recently tried to start playing AO again but it did not work out for the fact I do not feel like starting the whole game over and Funcom seems to be slacking with their support help. I would like the game to be on the order of AO in SciFi status and such but not really a necessity. I would like it to be a popular game and would like interaction with everyone else in the game to somewhat like AO. I would also like a good story line and for the game to feel like as if it goes on forever. I would also like the creators of the game to also be taking care off their clients (such as updating often and adding new areas and such pretty often). Am I just dreaming or is there really a game out there that I will like? Someone please help me please.

well, I suggest Guild Wars (either of them) or wow because they are the 2 biggest ones, and therefore they also have the best odds of pleasing any given person.

The problem with those titles is that they don't even have free trials.  Maybe you could try out with a friend's account?

Other than that..... I don't really play much else, but I'd suggest going down the rating ranks and just look at the screenies/comments to see what sounds interesting.

Just about anything nowadays has a free trial to compete with those 2 big boys I mentioned first, so... just try them!

That and see what others will say below.

I really do not mind paying for a game if it is really worth it. I appreciate the input whole heartely. I mean I am really looking forward to like LOTR online and the new Stargate game and Vanguard. The second being the most anticipated by me. I think that game is going to really really rock. Like I said thank you for the input.

I agree with Britoca, Try Guild Wars (no monthly fee) or WoW they are both good games and are totaly different from eachother.

If your looking at games with any depth then stay away from WoW and GW. GW isn't reallly an MMORPG and WoW won't have much to keep you interested past grinding.

Try Eve online (sci-fi) or Saga of Ryzom (fantasy/sci-fi).

I say try World of Warcraft. stay away from GW, since it hardly is an mmorpg ( you can only play with about 8 people at a time, because every player/group gets a map of his own) WoW is a great way to get back into the mmorpg genre if you have been out of it for a while. it may not have the most depth, but it definitly is one of the most fun mmo's to play

Why not give AO another try?

    Just reactivate yer old account.

I recently returned to AO after 1 year absence, still a great game.

I would choose Ryzom over Eve, unless you like to look at the rear-end of a spaceship while mining in empty space for hours upon hours.

Eve doesn't sound like much fun, and Guild Wars I am not sure of ( Not to sure about a completely free game, I do not think they would care much about updating stuff on there).

I would love to go back to AO until Vanguard or Stargate come out but that does not look like it will be happening anytime soon. I mean all I did was let my account expire like 5 months ago. I mean, I am still in the system and stuff but when I try to log in to activate my account it says I keep entering the wrong password. When I click forgot password it says enter my Username, which I do, and then it says it will send my password to my E-Mail address. Unfortuantely, I have done this 20 times or so, and supposedly it will be sending it to me in minutes. And of course it never shows up.

I have tried the online support for Funcom, but I personally think that an online support instead of a live support is a joke. I mean, I have sent them numerous E-Mails and have never gotten any reply, which I might add was suppose to arrive within 24 hours to resolve the issue, unless it was on weekends when they wee short handed and it might take a little longer (so they say). That has been about 2 weeks ago and still nothing. So that is when I came to a dead end. Anyone with any idea what to do?

Oh and by the way, hehe, as far as the person earlier that said I was just posting to be able to review games on here. I have no idea what you are talking about so how could I be doing that. Never heard anything of reviewing games on here.

About Eve, I forgot to mention it in the first post, and I apologize to the Eve fans.  It's one of the top games as well.  It's totally space-based, you do not have an avatar other than your ship and you never leave its cockpit.  There is also no planet surface exploration. Space only.  It's nothing like the other 2 games I suggested before.

Don't be mislead by that description though.  Both Eve and Guildwars have some of the most intense and dedicated fanbases I've seen among gamers.  Guildwars is an excellent game, though it's oriented to combat/action mainly.

About your problem with AO, that is really unfortunate.  Can't you get a number anywhere to call them?

    Good luck
