Man, I wish they had addressed this when I was playing WoW for too many years. People have been posting about the dumb inflation that was way out of hand years ago.

Looks like some of my friends who might still b playing probably noticed the change as soon as Blizz implemented it.

Don't care one way or the other but why does a team as experienced as this try to sneak in stealth nerfs into games? Players always figure things out and it looks lame when the devs are forced to fess up after the fact.

Add ons to farm the auction house was a suck idea from jump street.

EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

I quit classic as every time I put something up on the AH with in a minute every time I was undercut. I just couldn't be bothered with it anymore so left the game. It wasn't fair of real people playing the game.

Yeah although i agree with Blizzard's actions it looks suspicious when they announce it AFTER players find out.
So i think anyone with common sense knows they purposely avoided addressing it.So that means their intent was likely not honorable because who wouldn't like an idea that creates a fair playing field in the economy right?
Yeah that is their PR side of the story,in reality they were only worried about the strain on the servers.
I don't remember how Wow's AH works,i try not remember much of a game i feel is way overrated but imo an easy fix would be to simply limit AH use. That is how you create a FAIR system, not by putting in a delay which really only cares about the servers than it does about a fair economy.

Blizzard is a very sneaky business, idk if people really understand what is going on inside of Blizzard. Can we blame them for operating as a business, constantly looking for ways to make more money and cut costs,no i suppose not but where does it end?

Do people forget or remember a few years ago someone uncovered that Blizzard filed for a copyright on some software they were working on to manipulate player spending in their games. They stated some BS excuses and basically said they never really had any intent on using the software to which i call BS.

Well I do remember one that some people would do that pisses people off. Put up something like 50 items of the same kind but list them separately. Nothing to piss people more than to do shit like that. Makes browsing the AH a real pain.

The new auction house system kind of eliminated this problem, they made it show X amount of items listed as a certain price and you just buy it at whatever price instead of going through pages.

I'm not sure how slowing down the AH is making them any more or less money. They get nothing from AH sells as it is and all this really does is make the service run better for everyone from both a performance standpoint and also on a more level playing field standpoint. If anything it is a win / win for the player base minus the people that used addons to automate buying and selling on the AH to inflate prices of certain items and / or snipe items at super low prices to resell. It can still be done just not to the point where you click one or two buttons to do so as warp speed.

I never buy the lowest cost item unless it's obvious that it hasn't been sniped by an add on and I encourage others to do the same. So this updates reduces sniping.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

It's been some time since I played, but:

I think using addons to post the lowest price is fair game. The issue is when people use addons to buy and relist stuff.

Items purchased should not be able to be resold. Look at that problem half solved, other half is the botting. The only way botting gets solved is by completely dissolving online anonymity entirely the way Korea does. Doesn't mean that any of their games were inflation proof, but rather they inflated at a slower rate when compared to their NA/EU/Global counterparts, sans exploits that may have had a hand with inflation.
