Blade & Soul Treasure Trove Available June 24, Previews Force Master Third Class Specialization
Blade & Soul has announced that Tropical Treasure Trove will be available on June 24, along with previewing the Force Master Third Class Specialization.
The Treasure Trove is a thing that comes up every three months, basically it's a random box, if you just use the free option, your selection is very limited, and you'll likely get nothing but crap. Although if you spend, spend, spend, then you get far more options per pull, and can buy as many pulls as you want.
It tends to be the big way people get a lot of the harder to get/grindy as hell stuff in the game. Basically if you were to start playing during a Trove event you could spend to start your character at a high level, then dump a pile of money into the Trove to get your character geared up in the best stuff. You would then be far more likely to get invited into any team, even though you have no idea how to play, than someone that does know to play, but has lesser gear, and can't get better gear because they can't get into teams to do content to get those upgrades.
Trove is the number 2 reason I dont play this game. Number 1 is how horribly optimized this game is. Probably gonna have to wait another 2 years for UE4 'part 1' upgrade or whatever.

What a horrible spectacle of P2W and one that leads to poorly skilled players with little knowledge of the actual game. What a shame!

Funniest thing about all of this is: 1) There's so many arbitary items and systems in the game so even if you got something 'good' if you don't research your options, you wont really know and end up wasting rl money if you're trying to whale the trove system (but most people trying to whale it already know what's good for the most part), 2) If you're below a certain threshold in the game, the game automatically gives you materials to upgrade your game to the 'minimum' after 6 months or so anyway. Its an entire system built on taking advantage of impatience and naivety. Take all of that and going back into the 'poorly skilled' comment, people will end up being throw into content that honestly does require some paying attention, even more so given how poorly optimized this game is so you need to calculate lag/hitching/etc when trying to do mechanics.
