Hard pass. I really hope this fails as any kind of major platform. Imagine a world where this gets exclusives.....I shudder to think about it.
I am on the opposite, I think the goal in the future would be to improve this technology to hopefully get more people access to higher end games without the full expensive of own computers. Having more access to people that may not be able to. The technology is not perfect by any means as highlighted above but this is a stepping stone. The exclusivity is a different issue though I would say.

I agree. Stuff like this is a game changer for a lot of people with crappy computers. But Stadia still needs a lot of work to get there.
Another really good gaming streaming service is Nvidia Geforce Now. I've recommended it to two of my friends and they love it because they can finally play games with me that normally would never run on their computers. Geforce needs a lot of work too, but giving alternatives for people who are much poorer is a nice thing.
You can sugar coat it all you want, I don't want anything to slow down my games or even potentially slow them down. I do wonder how far we have come sometimes, to a PC gaming world where cost and convenience seem to rate as highly as speed and graphical accomplishment. A gaming world driven by inferior platforms like mobile phones and tablets to accept less as better.
what about addons, I assume you can't use addons through this?
No, doesn't look like it since you're playing using Stadia's servers, not your own PC. I wonder if that would be something that they add in the future - though since Google's services are involved, probably not.
Technology such as this only ensures a watered down future of gaming. Don't support such greedy corporations unless you want everything to be push button i win for a monthly fee.

Current streaming services are only useful if you have a computer older then 2010, so hopefully none of them!
I have a high end gaming rig but I used GFN to play ESO allot. Gamers have been asking for apps for their phones and tablets that let them...
1. Talk in guild chat 2. Manage AH and bank 3. Crafting 4. Trivia game things like collecting daily login rewards 5. Playing minor content like holiday events
Thats what GFN did for me with ESO. I could sit on the couch with my wife. Watching TV while I did these little things. Also when I was looking after my parents place when they were away. I could play ESO on my mom's crappy laptop by logging into GFN. These services go beyond not having a good PC.
I think a lot of people are missing the point here. Stadia isn't about flashy graphics or "the perfect gameplay experience." It's about accessibility. If all you care about are the flashiest graphics and frame rates, Stadia is probably not for you. However, if you are looking for something you can actually enjoy playing a AAA mmorpg on your phone with then it's definitely worth it. I realize I'm in the minority here, but I could care less about having the highest graphics settings. As long as I find the game to be enjoyable, that's all that matters to me. It's actually a better play experience than on my first gen xbox one.
There are more articles on this website about ESO on Stadia then there is actual Stadia users.
Thats an interesting topic. On this site, if you use a streaming service, what do you use?
I use Stadia, Xcloud and I tried Gforce Now. . also Playstation Now. They all ran well. Gforce Now worked very well for me I would almost never play a game remotely that I already own.
XCloud and Stadia both work great for me. Stadia works super well and looks good but was disappointing because it should look better than the competition. Playstation Now has improved a lot and is starting to offer better games.
I jump on these things whenever there is a promo to try them out. The only game that I am interested in playing on console AND PC is maybe Assassin's Creed Odyssey, but I got a super deal on Xbox that Stadia just recently came close to.
For me. . if Xcloud becomes part of GamePass then there is no turning back for me.
I can think of a time before I retired and traveled a lot for work and I was into playing ESO enough that I might have gotten some limited use from doing some routine tasks like crafting, buying/selling or the always needed inventory and stash clean-up on my tablet or phone.
So all these streaming services are too little, too late for me. But hey good for you guys that get some use out of it.

The buying the game multiple times bit isnt true. Stadia Pro users get it forever with their sub. Making Stadia the cheapest way to get this version of the game. That's before even considering that theres no required hardware cost. You also said you need to rebuy greymore, also not true, your expansions and ESO plus carry over
The controller bit is misguided. You CAN use any controller type with the chrome browser. It was advertised that way. PlayStation and xbox controllers cant work with chromecast because theyre not wifi controllers.
The 4k claim is also unfortunately industry standard. Most games on current gen consoles cant handle true 4k they too upscale. Where performance is concerned its hard to believe the claim ESO cant handle 60 fps or higher settings because it looks subpar compared to RDR2 and definitely is not as high quality as DOOM Eternal. I think they released early with a plan to keep iterating.
I play this on my Samsung S10+ with a Razer Kishi telescopic controller and it is impressive. Like the author its nice to do crafting or some of the non/light combat without having to be tethered to a computer.
I didnt pay for it on Steam. I claimed it as my free Stadia Pro game. Because I own Greymore and have ESO+ I get access to all the content on my phone.
I will also sometimes boot it up on my work computer..,. because I can, and its here where you can see the limitations like the lower resolution. But what pains me more is the combination of using the console interface and lack of add ons. It felt like I had to learn the game all over again, but became capable enough to enjoy it.
Baldurs Gate III for Stadia will be a day one purchase for me.

I hope it does well. Why not allow people play eso on any system? Oh wait I forgot...Have to have master race...Viper are the kind of people that forget to breath and die. "I shudder to think about the incompetence of some people." Game on! Doesn't matter what system its on.
i enjoy it a lot, i often travel alot so the fact i can just grab my tablet and controller and play doom eternal in my hotel room speaks to me.
my friend and his gf are big eso fans but because they are students, they can only afford one gaming pc, now with stadia the other one can play ESO on chromebook and for the first time in ages, they can play together.
it's not about top quality graphics, it's about accessibility.
