Devs continued to fine tuned the game for differences in realm populations, and to make gameplay more fun for players (Quality of Life changes i think). Post copied from here:

Description:

Added: Sound to notify when a Battlezone is ready to be joined.
Added: New premium Teleport Scroll that allows to travel to any city of your realm and also to the coliseum.

Fixed: Areas of the map where players got stuck:

Fixed: The interface showing the progress of a realm vulneration was not working properly on macOS.

Fixed: Some of the spawn points of fort and castle doors had an incorrect rotation (orientation).
Fixed: Couldn't reach the maximum permitted amount of quests if you had one less than the maximum and also a Realm Task active.
Fixed: Trying to spawn a summon when there are obstacles nearby consumed the spell without spawning the summon.
Fixed: Spawning a Warmaster Beacon near an object made it appear over it and unreachable.
Fixed: Knocking down an enemy while they're jumping made them stay in the air.

Modified: Realm Balance usually applies War Confidence to the realms in population disadvantage. Now it is applied depending on the number of successful gem steals (placing them in your portal).
- Level 1: Applied to a realm that has stolen less than 16 gems in the last 10 days.
- Respawn time in any Great Wall zone is reduced to 2 seconds.
- Own Realm Door and captured ones become stronger if the enemy doesn't need to be balanced.
- Level 2: Applied to a realm that has stolen less than 10 gems in the last 10 days.
- All perks from level 1.
- Time needed to hold forts and castle is reduced to a half if the enemy doesn't need to be balanced.
- 50% more time when an enemy realm is vulnerated if the enemy doesn't need to be balanced.
- Level 3: Applied to a realm that has stolen less than 8 gems in the last 10 days.
- All perks from level 2.
- War Confidence(2) in Great Walls.
- Level 4: Applied to a realm that has stolen less than 6 gems in the last 10 days.
- All perks from level 2.
- War Confidence(3) in Great Walls.
- Level 5: Applied to a realm that has stolen less than 4 gems in the last 10 days.
- All perks from level 2.
- War Confidence(1) in forts and castles and War Confidence(4) in Great Walls.
- Level 6: Applied to a realm that has stolen less than 2 gems in the last 10 days.
- All perks from level 2.
- War Confidence(2) in forts and castles and War Confidence(5) in Great Walls.
Modified: Added a 1 second block to activable spells in the quickbar to avoid accidentally deactivation when double clicking.
Modified: After saving correctly in a resurrection altar, it becomes unselected to avoid interfering with other actions.
Modified: Maximum amount of concurrent quests raised from 5 to 8.
Modified: Players that don't vote in a dragon wish will not get the reward directly and they will get the variation sent by mail.
Modified: Casting area shown on the ground has 3 options to choose: show ally attacks, ally buffs or enemy attacks. Ally buffs are in light blue. Attacks are in two different shades of red.
Modified: Dragon dungeons now need 5 tickets.
Modified: Tiers to get tickets. In tier 4 you now need to earn at least 800 WMC and kill at least 20 players. In tier 3 you need to earn at least 400 WMC and kill at least 10 players. In tier 2 you need to kill at least 10 players.

    ok i played it a bit after the realm numbers rebalancing patch.

    what they have done is to increase the hp on gates and forts for realms with lower population numbers. Of greater impact, they also reduced the time needed for lower-populated realms to hold forts to trigger the ability for the realm with lower population numbers to invade the enemy realm. 

    This is a progression of the mechanisms they have used in the past few years. But this time, it seems the changes are very significant and meaningful. So it seems to have meaningfully fired up the warzone, and lower populated realms have a real chance to invade (and are invading regularly now). It remains to be seen whether the changes continue to rebalance the powers in each realm. Realm factions can be very devious. Maybe they find a way around it. But right now, it is a very effective patch.
