Correction, Horizon Zero Down is releasing on both Steam and Epic Game Store. They have a big pre-purchase banner on EGS.
The only deal i'd love to see between Epic and Sony is them releasing an Unreal Tournament collection on PS. Maybe also a new UT game with PC/PS5 crossplay.
Still never gonna use epic... because steam is the best
Epic gives free games, and they've been pretty generous with the titles. Their summer sale was pretty good too.
I think atm Epic's problem is that they're just worse as a store. Steam is a place that's fun to browse and discover new games, while doing that on Epic Store is like a torture.
Epic is ok enough if I already know what I want and it's cheapest on Epic, but it's no a place I'd see anyone heading to browse, and it doesn't matter how many free games they give away as long as they can't make a place you'd want to return to.
MMORPG literally has the most toxic fanboys. You can't use both platforms? Or even GOG or Origin? Epic gives out amazing free games and steam has even went downhill, allowing god awful devs to release essentially scams on their platform over and over again. They're still allowing Bless Online to be sold with their multiple illiterations.

Like many things cheaply made, Epic Store is a cheaper, but lower quality copy of a better storefront for those who place lower cost above all else.
Sort of like those Dyson ripoffs they sell for like $100.
In the end I've found you normally get what you pay for over the long haul.

And Epic's habit of throwing money around to make exclusives is a bad practice. If you can be bribed with free games, that's your business. Steam has problems but it doesn't pay developers to break their promises to Kickstarter backers.

Getting too old for this $&17!
Cue massive eye-roll.
